Put 25-26 personal pronouns(4 pieces for the same personal pronoun) into a lucky draw box and have each student get one. Present the questions one by one out of order: 我会……。 你会做什么? 我不会……。 你不会……。 我会做什么呢? 你会……。 你会……? 我会……? ……(他她它你们我们他们) Try to pronounce the words when being called or volunteer to do so if one thinks one can do so. Put the similar sentences the teacher makes in groups of grammar function. Check the students’ mind map one by one. Pick out some of the sentences above or add other sentences and present them to the students and let them translate the sentences into Chinese again. Present the students the other language points in Section A, like the different usages of “join, join in, take past in, attend”. Ask the students to finish the exercises of 3a and 3b. Check the answers all together by choosing two of the students’ and let the students themselves revise their sentences. Read all the sentences they made above on PPT, and work in the group to figure out the usages if can and try to complete the mind map as quickly as possible. According to the checking result, score for each group. (the group which is the fastest and without any mistakes will get the highest mark.) Volunteer to translate the sentences into Chinese. And think about the possible usages of can besides “ability”. Learn the new language points carefully and take scrupulous plete the task of 3a: write sentences and answer with the words and phrases according to the example.
