I was born in Egypt. Many tourists know about the pyramids, but there are other in teresting things to see and do in Egypt. You can relax on a boat tour of the Nile. You can ride a camel in the Sahara Desert or walk in the ancient markets in Cairo. Many things in Egypt will surprise you, not just the pyramids.

Language Points
(1). Prepare sth. 准备某物

(3). prepare for sth. “为某事做准备”，for 是准备的目的。

(4). prepare 的名词形式为 preparation，
make preparations for 为……做准备。
They have made preparations for what will happen.
他们已为将要发生的事情做好了准备。
2. My people are known for our fun dances and colourful culture.
be known for 因……而著名=be famous for，后接表原因的词。
e.g. Lu Xun is known for his books.
鲁迅以他的书而著名。
拓展：
be known as 作为……而出名=be famous as，后接表示职位名称和主语身份的词语。
He is known as a singer.
他以一名歌手而著名。
3. It has a huge river called the Amazon and a rainforest with more trees than you can imagine.
imagine v.想象；设想，imagine sth.想象某事；imagine that… 想象……
e. g. Can you imagine what he said

4. It connects Europe and Asia.
connect v. (使)连接；与……有联系
connect...with... 把……和……连接或联系起来
e.g. Please don’t connect such person with me.

pride /pra d/ n. 引以自豪的事物(或人)；骄傲
be the pride of sb.＝be sb.’s pride “是某人的骄傲” He is the pride of Chinese people.
＝He is Chinese people’s pride.

take pride in “为……感到自豪/骄傲” I take pride in my work.
我为自己的工作感到骄傲。
with pride 骄傲地 Be careful not to get eaten up with pride.
注意，不要骄傲自满。
拓展:
proud 形容词, 意为“骄傲的; 自豪的”。在句中既可作表语, 也可作定语。其后可接of 短语、不定式或that 从句。be proud of 为……骄傲。
e.g.
We won the football match. We are proud of ourselves.
我们赢得了足球比赛，我们为我们自己感到骄傲。
We are proud that we are Chinese.
