教学目标：
By the end of this period, students will be able to:
1.Identify and summarise the forms and functions of present continuous passive through observation,and apply it correctly in different contexts and situations;
2.Understand the main idea of listening materials,gather specific details to complete the table and learn to describe Chinese art forms,art works and artists.

Step Ⅰ　Lead-in
Activity 1　Look at the sentences and answer the questions.
a.And just look at how her dress is being folded by the wind!
b.I’m being pushed around quite a bit,in fact.
1.What causes the action in sentence (a) The dress or the wind
2.What is happening to “me” in sentence (b)
Activity 2　Compare them with the following sentences and answer the questions.
c.And just look at how the wind is folding her dress!
d.People are pushing me around quite a bit,in fact.
3.What is the difference between the two groups of sentences
4.Why does the author choose to use the passive form instead of the active form in the reading passage
Suggested answers:
Activity 1
1.The wind causes the action.
2.People around “me” are pushing “me”.
Activity 2
3.The two sentences of the first group use the passive form,while the two of the second group use the active form.
4.In the first sentence of the first group,the author is describing the sculpture,so the dress instead of the wind should be the author’s focus and it serves as the subject.In the second sentence of the first group,“I” don’t know the people around “me”,so there is no need to mention who are pushing “me”.As a result,the passive form is used here.

Do you think going to a museum is the only way to see art Actually,art is everywhere around us! For example,on the walls of my local pub,young people are painting beautiful pictures.Some people find graffiti too random and don’t like it,but I like its colours.Even trees can be art—some people are trimming trees into interesting shapes,like animals or clouds.And look up—construction workers are building impressive,original buildings in every neighbourhood.Anyhow,it’s easy to see great art nowadays,because people are creating it everywhere you look.

现在进行时的被动语态
1.现在进行时的被动语态的基本结构
肯定句 主语+be (am/is/are)+being done
否定句 主语+be (am/is/are)+not+being done
一般疑问句 Be (Am/Is/Are)+主语+being done
特殊疑问句 疑问词+be (am/is/are)+主语+being done
(1)A bridge is being built over the Yangtze River at present.
(2)The plan is not being carried out well.
(3)Are the babies being taken care of by the nurse
(4)Where is the problem being discussed now
2.现在进行时的被动语态的用法
(1)表示说话时正在进行的被动动作,句中常用now、at the moment等时间状语。

(2)表示现阶段正在进行的被动动作,但该动作此时此刻不一定正在发生。
These rare animals 　　　　　　　　　　　　(hunt) at such a speed that they will disappear soon.
(3)表示经常性或习惯性的被动行为,常和always、constantly、frequently等频度副词连用,往往带有赞扬、责备、厌烦或埋怨等感彩。

(4)与部分情态动词(may、must、can’t等)连用,表示对正在发生的被动行为的推测。

3.be under+抽象名词 表达含义相当于be being done:
·be under control被控制=be being controlled
·be under discussion 在讨论中=be being discussed
·be under construction 在建设中=be being constructed
·be under consideration在考虑中=be being considered
·be under treatment在治疗中=be being treated

Yesterday,I went to an amazing Chinese art festival.There were different stands where artists could demonstrate their skills and teach the visitors!It was definitely an exciting experience for a foreign student like me.
What caught my attention first was a 15th-century qinghua bowl in a breathtaking exhibition of Chinese 1..It vividly illustrated a dragon playing with a ball.
Then I tried some 2.　　　　　　　　　,that is,making images out of paper.It was difficult,but a lot of fun!With help from the artist,I managed to make one in the shape of a fish.Meanwhile,a woman at the next stand was using a needle and some thread to do some 3.　　　　　　.It looked so pretty!Then I went into a section decorated like a traditional Chinese study,with two beautiful 4. of a pine tree and some bamboo hung on the walls.

Learning to learn
Pauses give the listener extra time to understand what is being said.Pausing also allows the speaker to emphasise certain words within a sentence.Try to be aware of where and when to pause during a conversation.
