It also can push the cooperation of the mutual trust, mutual benefit and mutual profit between regions to a higher level, and enhance the comprehensive communication between the countries along the Road.

China Is Changing the World of Science（1/2）
Science, technology and innovation（创新）are the core driving forces for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)（“一带一路”倡议）development.
For the past six months, Nature has been travelling to countries, from Beijing to Islamabad, Colombo to Nairobi, seeing how China is changing
the world of science. China’s universities are providing scientific help for these
countries. The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)（ 中国科学院） has invested more than 1.8 billion yuan(almost US $268 million) in science and technology projects as part of the BRI.

In Sri Lanka, China is co-funding a centre on safe drinking water for the country’s rural population. In Pakistan, it is co-sponsoring（联合发起） a range of research centers from rice agriculture to artificial intelligence and railway engineering. In the heart of the European Union, a Chinese–Belgian science park provides homes for companies which try to expand trade in medical devices, solar power and other technologies. In total, the scientific side of the BRI involves tens of thousands of researchers and students, and hundreds of universities. China’s scientific research has come to almost every region of the developing world.
