学习 目标 1.通过本课时的学习，学生能够听、说、认读单词small，big，short，long；能熟练运用句型“It has ...”描述动物的特征；能听懂Let’s do版块的指令，并根据指令做出相应的动作。 2.通过本课时的学习，学生能够积极参与课堂活动，与他人合作学习。 3.通过本课时的学习，学生能够通过对图片的观察获取信息，了解动物的差异性，辅助对单词的理解。 4.通过本课时的学习，培养学生热爱动物、保护动物的意识。
教学 重难点 能掌握本课时的四个形容词small，big，short，long。 能在实际情景中运用本课所学的单词和句型描述动物的特征。
学情 分析 John和陈洁在Let’s learn中继续参观动物园。他们看到了鸵鸟，并描述它的样子，由此引出重点词汇：small, big, short, long. 这四个词汇在前边几课时的学习中已经出现，学生理解不成问题，主要是帮助他们达到认读的程度。Let’s do和A部分的Let’s do相似，是个与身体部位与形容相关的指令性TPR活动。主要内容是把眼睛睁大、眯小，把胳膊伸长、缩短。在活动中练习本课的四个重点单词。 对于这样内容相对比较容易理解，学生又比较感兴趣的教学内容，可以多设计游戏活动，让学生在多种形式，多种层次的活动中快乐地学习、操练，达到预定的教学目标。

Part 5： Homework。 Step VI:Homework 1.大声听读Let’s learn，然后读给你的爸爸妈妈和老师听一听。 2.大声听读Let’s do，并能根据指令准确做出相应的动作，然后表演给老师和同学们看一看。 通过作业及时复习当天所学, 培养学生的自律性。

教学反思：本课时是一节词汇课。以玩游戏的形式复习学过的形容词，活跃课堂气氛，学生参与度高。通过让学生观察鸵鸟图片，描述鸵鸟的特征，引出新词的教学，词不离句，学生掌握得不错。此外，我设计多种活动，如看图描述动物，听描述猜动物等，让学生进一步巩固所学词句。最后，Let's do版块的练习非常有趣，学生积极参与，也能很好地完成小组任务，在具体的语境中熟练运用所学的语言知识，学以致用。
