学写法——让结构更严谨
本篇文章以时间为线索，用第一人称记叙了作者在开学第一天的经历：在不同的课堂上接触到了不同的老师和同学(明线)，其中夹杂着自己的情感变化(暗线)。明暗线交织进行，生动形象地展示了作者高中生活的第一天。
1.第一段主要写刚刚踏入高中时作者的心情及顾虑。本段开头 So this is it — senior high school at last!中的破折号起强调、解释作用，描绘出作者期待的高中生活终于到来。随后作者又用以下两个问句提出了自己的顾虑：
①Will I make friends ②What if no one talks to me
第二段第二句中作者用but这一转折词引出了自己的观点，而这一观点与The class was difficult是相对的。接着又用了even一词，表述作者对maths class完全消除了顾虑。在英文中常见到的转折词还有③ yet,however,though,等。
