Along with firewood(柴火, 木柴), rice, oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, tea is considered one of the seven necessities for life in China. Now, it has also won global attention as a shared cultural treasure of mankind.
On Nov. 29th, 2022, Chinese traditional tea making skills and their social practices were added to the Intangible Cultural Heritage List(非物质文化遗产名录). Since ancient times, Chinese people have been planting, picking, making and drinking tea.
More importantly, China’s tea culture has developed social practices. It is Chinese tradition that a host should welcome visiting guests with boiled tea. A poem by Song poet Du Lei reads: I offer tea, not wine, to a guest on a cold night.
Boiling tea is one of the oldest Chinese tea brewing(煮沏)methods, dating back to the Tang Dynasty(618—907). Tea leaves were boiled for a long time and sometimes they were cooked together with different kinds of herbs(草药)and fruits. During this process, people can enjoy a quiet time. Later in the Ming Dynasty(1368—1644), a faster and more convenient method become more popular—steeping(冲泡).
However, the old method is now making a comeback among Chinese young people. On the app Xiaohongshu, here are over 40,000 posts on the topic of “stove-boiled” tea(围炉煮茶). They roast tea leaves before boiling them in a teapot on a stove. People sit around the stove in a natural setting and have snacks with their hot tea. Some also wear traditional hanfu as if it could take them back to those ancient times.
Through “stove-boiled” tea, people can taste a slower life and find their inner peace. As is written in one Xiaohongshu post, “It is very relaxing to drink hot tea and chat with best friends.”

Can plants grow in the moon soil Scientists at the University of Florida in the United States seemed to find the answer.
The moon soil brought back by astronauts on the moon was protected well because it was important to the planting work in a lab. Scientists had always hoped to do a test about the moon soil. Finally, they got the chance. They planted something in the moon soil. To their surprise, the seeds sprouted and began to grow.
Scientists also made some fake(仿造的) moon soil from the earth and put the same seeds into it. The result was that the plants in the moon soil grew more slowly than those in the fake moon soil. According to scientists, the moon soil was full of things that are not good for the plant’s growth. Also, we know that the moon soil is not fertile(肥沃的).
How to help improve this situation One possible way was to choose the soil from the younger geological areas on the moon and to create a better planting environment.
The research could not only help to study the future of the moon but also gave people a lesson of planting things in some difficult environments on the earth. The research also made scientists think about whether it was possible to build a “greenhouse” that is good for the plant’s growth on the moon in the future.
In a word, we believe more good things are going to happen on the moon in the future.
56. How does the writer introduce the topic in paragraph 1
A. By giving an answer. B. By asking a question.

59. What may be the real purpose of the planting work in the lab
A. To provide food for the astronauts. B. To make fake moon soil
C. To be able to grow plants on the moon. D. To collect more soil from the moon.
60. What can we infer(推断) from the passage
