He laughed and sent them out into the garden to play while he did the washing.The morning passed quickly. When Daniel and Kitty came home, they were surprised to see a man sitting at the kitchen table with Dad. Dad told the children that was an old friend he hadn't seen for years. The man, whose name was Bill, suggested they get fish and chips for lunch. The children jumped up and down, screaming with joy. Dad hesitated.“Oh, come on!" said Bill.“You'd better promise not to tell your mum," said Dad.“We won't!" said Kitty.Twenty minutes later they were all eating delicious fish and chips Bill had ordered. Then Bill took cans of drinks from his pockets, which made a perfect end to the meal. The children were sorry when he had to go.“Oh, dear" said Dad. looking at the empty cans and other leftovers(吃剩的食物)on the kitchen table.“We'd better clear up. Mum will be back in half an hour.”
