Last summer, Hilda worked as a volunteer with dolphin trainers at a sea life park. Her job was to make sure the tanks were free of any items so that the trainers could train the dolphins to fetch specific items. However, one day after cleaning, one of the dolphins, Maya, presented Hilda with a candy wrapper from the tank. When Katherine, the trainer, saw this, she blamed Hilda for her carelessness. Upset but not discouraged by this event, Hilda decided to do some spying on Maya.
The next morning, Hilda arrived at the park early. She put on her scuba gear（水下呼吸器）and jumped into the tank for her usual, underwater sweep. Finding nothing in the tank, she climbed out of the water just in time to see Katherine jumping in on the other side. After what happened yesterday, Hilda knew what she was doing. She watched as Katherine performed her underwater search, but Hilda wasn’t surprised when she surfaced empty-handed.
During the tank sweeps, Maya had been swimming playfully, but now the dolphin stopped suddenly and swam to the back part of the tank where the filter （过滤） box was located. She stuck her nose down behind the box and then swam away. What was Maya doing back there Hilda wondered. She jumped back into the water and swam over to take a look behind the box, and her question was answered. Hilda then swam across the tank following Maya’s path and emerged from the water to find Katherine removing her scuba gear. As Katherine turned around, her mouth dropped open. There was Maya at the edge of the tank with a comb（梳子） in her mouth waiting for her treat.
“Maya! Where did you get that ” demanded Katherine, taking the comb and throwing her a fish. “I know where she got it,” declared Hilda climbing out of the tank with a handful of items still wet from their watery, resting place. “What’s all this ” Katherine asked, obviously confused.

“This is Maya’s secret,” Hilda said with a big smile. Hearing this, Katherine turned out to be more at a loss, puzzled frown on her face. Before Katherine began to ask something, Hilda continued, “The fact of the event is that …”, which was interrupted by Katherine’s words “you helped Maya to get the treat”. “Not really!” Hilda answered immediately with confidence instead of any anger. Putting down the items in her hands, Hilda asked Katherine to put on the scuba gear and then swim to the back part where the filter box was located. What surprised Katherine was that some items were resting there to be collected. (98 words)
Now Katherine realized what had been going on. All came to light. She made an earnest apology to Hilda for her blame without any evidence. In the meanwhile, she showed great respect to the naughty dolphin, Maya, for its wisdom. She praised Maya with the timely treat, some fish. The misunderstanding settled, Katherine offered the proposal that if possible, Hilda could invite Maya to join together in the tank sweeps. Nothing was better than working with lovely Maya. Hilda nodded her head and thanked Katherine. After the event, the sea life park attracted more audience because of the wise Maya. (92 words)

Without showing her discovery, Hilda suggested Katherine do some spying on Maya to answer her confusion on her own. Katherine accepted it. The next morning, she reached the park early, putting on her scuba gear and jumping into the tank out of curiosity, just like what Hilda had done the day before. Following behind Maya, Katherine managed to find Maya's secret. No wonder Maya would swim playfully rather than rest as her friends.
Now Katherine realized that what had been going on. It was not until then that she realized that Maya was so intelligent that she was capable of fetching random items, for her extra treat. With mixed feelings, Katherine climbed out of the tank when Hilda came forward to her. Head dropping low, Katherine made her apology to Hilda for blaming her wrongly. Blooming a brighter grin, Hilda forgave her, throwing a fish to Maya. Having appreciated Maya's wisdom, Hilda and Katherine resolved to fulfill her potent. Living up to their expectation, Maya made it and became a shining star of the park!
