【知识精讲】
miss：v.“想念”；“错过，未赶上”。
→ miss doing sth.“错过做某事”。
Miss：“小姐，女士”。
“玩得高兴”：have a fantastic/good/great/wonderful time = enjoy oneself = have fun。
have a fantastic/good/great/wonderful time doing sth.“开心地做某事”。
at high/low speed“以高速/低速”。
→ at full speed“以全速”； at a/the speed of...“以……的速度”。
hurry to + n.“匆忙赶到……”。
hurry to do sth.“匆忙做某事”。
hurry up“赶快”；hurry off“匆忙离开”。
in a hurry“匆匆忙忙”。
on the way“在路上”。 → on one’s/the way to...“在（某人）去……的路上”。
can’t/couldn’t stop doing sth.“忍不住做某事”。
→ stop doing sth.“停止做某事”（停止正在做的事情）。
→ stop to do sth.“停下来去做另一件事”（停止正在做的事情而去做另一件事）。
→ stop sb. from doing sth.“阻止某人做某事”= prevent sb. from doing sth. = keep sb. from doing sth.
感官动词：smell，look，taste，sound，feel。
→ feel like：“感觉像”。
人 + be sure of + 名词/代词“确信……，对……有把握”（是主语自己的把握）。
人/物 + be sure to do sth.“一定会做某事”（说话人对主语的判断推测）。
→ make sure“确保；查明”。
at the end of“在……的末尾”（可以指时间，也可以指位置）。
by the end of“到……为止”（只能表示时间）。
in the end“最后，最终”= at last = finally。
stay：n./v.“停留，逗留”；“保持”（系动词，= keep）。
how long“多长时间”（用for或since引导的时间状语回答）；“多长”（询问物体长度）。
how soon“多久以后”，多用于将来时，用“in + 一段时间”回答。
how often“多久一次”，提问频率。
how far“多远”，提问距离。
【词义辨析】
whole/all
whole：修饰具有“整个”意义的单数名词，限定词放在whole的前面。（用于单数名词）
all：all与定冠词、形容词性物主代词或所有格连用时，all放在它们前面，表示三个或三个以上的“所有的”。（用于不可数或复数名词）
have been in/have been to/have gone to
have been in：“在某地已经多长时间”，通常和表示一段时间的短语或从句连用。（后接地点副词here/there/home等时省略介词）
have been to：“已经去过了某处（现在已经不在某处）”。（后接地点副词here/there/home等时省略介词）
have gone to：“已经去了某处（人正在那里或已在去那里的途中）”。（后接地点副词here/there/home等时省略介词）
such as/for example
such as：“例如”，用来列举同类人或事物中的几个例子。
for example：“例如”，一般只以同类事物或人中的“一个”为例，作插入语，用逗号隔开，可位于句首、句中或句末。
couple/pair
couple：指任何两件同类的东西。
pair：指两件不能分开使用的东西，缺一不可。
in front of/in the front of
in front of：“在……前面”，指某范围之外的前面，两者之间不存在相容关系，是一种外部相对位置的关系。
in the front of：“在……的前部”，指某范围之内的前面，两者之间存在相容关系，是一种内部相对位置的关系。
during/in/for
during：表示某事在某一段时间之内发生时，强调动作或状态的持续性。
in：一般可以与during互换，但表示某一动作发生在某一时间内，用in。 “in + 一段时间”表示一般将来时。
for：“for + 一段时间”表示某事持续多久。
【词形转换】
miss：v.“思念；错过”。 → missing：adj.“丢失的；缺少的”。
fantastic：adj.“极好的，美妙的”。 → fantasy：v./n.“幻想”。
ride：v.“骑”。 → 过去式：rode。 → 过去分词：ridden。
beauty：n.“美人，美好的东西；美丽”。 → beautiful：adj.“美丽的”。 → beautifully：adv.“美丽地”。
