1. Glad to receive your postcard. 很高兴收到你的明信片。
（1）glad to do sth. 是______ glad to do sth. 的省略用语。
类似的用法还有：Nice to do sth.= I’m nice to do sth.
eg. Nice to meet you. = ______ nice to meet you.
（2）receive sth. = get sth. “收到/得到某物”。
eg. receive a letter ______ sb. = get a letter ______ sb.
= hear ______ sb. 收到某人的来信。
辨析：receive “收到”，指客观上被动接收，与本意无关。
accept “接受”，指主观上自愿主动去接受、接纳。

（1）explore（v.）考察，探险，勘察；explorer（n.）探险家；
exploring（adj.）探险方面的。

Key point 4:
While:
（1）意为“当......时候，和......同时”，只用于指一个时间段(只能与延续性动词连用)， 表示主句与从句动作同时发生，常用进行时态。
（2）也可以作为名词来使用，
表示“一段时间， 一会儿”，eg. for a while, after a while
（3）表示对比，意为“然而“。

Example :
Darren was reading when Michael came in.
= Michael came in when Darren was reading.
Key point 4:
When：
（1）when意为“当......时候, 正在此时”， 它既可指一个时间点，又可指一个时间段；可与延续性动词连用，也可与非延续性动词连用。常用一般过去时态。
（2）when引导时间状语从句，如果主句用一般将来时
(也可以是情态动词或祈使句)，从句常用一般现在时表示将来。
注意：时间状语从句和条件状语从句都遵循“主将从现”原则。
eg. When he arrives, I’d like you to meet him with me.
When you arrive, I will meet you at the station.
