一、The analysis of the teaching material
This is the first lesson of Unit 3 Feelings and Body, Primary English Book 1. In this unit, students will talk about feelings and body. Lesson 13 is about different feelings. This topic is related to the students, so most of them are interested in it.
二、Teaching Objectives
(一) Knowledge objective
1. Students will be able to recognize, understand and use the following words:
cold, hot, tired, happy, sad
Students will be able to using the following expressions: How do you feel I feel ... I'm ...
Students will be able to sing: How do you feel
(二) Ability objective
Students will be able to ask and answer feelings to others.
(三) Emotional objective
Students will be able to love themselves than before.
三、Teaching key points and difficult points
1. Key points:
(1) To master the key words: cold, hot, tired, happy, sad
(2) To use the sentences to ask and answer feelings to others. How do you feel I feel ...

四、Teaching procedures
Step1. Greeting and Warming up (3mins)
Greet the students and sing a song If you’re happy. Use the picture of Royan who the students know about to lead in today’s topic.
Purpose: Activate the students to regard the topic of birthday celebration and create a relaxing atmosphere.

Step2. Present the new words. (20mins)
In this step, I will show some pictures about Royan and his friend and then ask the students their feelings “How do you feel Are you happy/sad ”. Read the new words after the teacher.
Today it’s Royan’s birthday, so they feel happy.
But during the party, one of Royan’s friends is missing. They are very sad. Here practice the pronunciation of / / and sing a song.
So they walk and run to look for the friend. After they find him, they feel tired. Here practice the sentences “How do you feel I feel happy/sad/tired.”
They need some hot water or cold water. Here practice the pronunciation of letter O / / / /.
Then play the game “Run for the stool!” to practice sentences “How do you feel I feel happy/sad/tired.” The whole class clap hands and read the question together. When the teacher says “Stop!”, the student who gets out of the game needs to answer the question “How do you feel ”
Purpose: Through pictures, feelings and actions, to arouse the students learning interest, and help them to learn the new words and sentences. Pave the way for the following tasks.

Step 3. Listening and Reading (5 mins)
New words and sentences learning has paved the way for listening and reading. So next, I’d like my students to listen to the dialogue and read by themselves and in pairs.
Purpose: This task is aim to develop Ss’ listening and reading ability. Through this task the students can get a general idea of this passage. Make sure the students can get a good understand of the passage.
(这一任务旨在发展学生的听读能力。通过这一任务,学生能够了解对话的主要内容。确保学生能够较好地理解对话。)
Step 4. Group work (6 mins)
Give the students some dialogue examples about feelings. Let them discuss and make a dialogue. Then, present their dialogue.
Purpose: Through group work, develop the spirit of cooperation, and train the ability of performing. In class, the teacher is just a guide, while the Ss are the centre, where the teacher just join them, giving suggestions, and offering help when they need.
(通过小组合作,发展学生的合作精神,训练学生的表演能力。在课堂上,教师只是一个引导者,学生才是课堂的中心,教师仅是加入他们,给他们提供建议,并且提供他们所需的帮助。)
Step 5. Picture book (3 mins)
After several steps , most of the students may have no difficulty in the passage and difficult points. So I will let them read a picture book《How do you feel 》
Purpose: The best way to learn English is to read more picture books. It can arouse the students’ thinking, imagination and creativity.

Step 6. Expand and Improve (1min)
The power of smile.
Purpose: Let the students appreciate the power of smile and arouse the students’ active attitude to life.
(让学生欣赏微笑的力量,唤起学生积极的生活态度。)
Step 7. Summary and Homework (2 mins)
Summarize today’s key points and conclude the performances of this class.
Today’s homework: Make a dialogue about feelings with your partners.
Purpose: Consolidate the language points and develop the ability of speaking.
(巩固语言点,锻炼学生的口语能力。)

六、Teaching Reflection
As a whole, this lesson is more successful. The atmosphere on the class is lively and all the students love to join in. But because I speak a little bit faster, the students need more time to react to my instructions. So next class I need to slow down my speed.
