“Today, I am going to tell you about
my favourite day during my favourite
season. On that day, the weather was
warm and the sun was bright. After
breakfast, I went on a trip to the
countryside with my friends. All the grass and trees were green. We played catch and made maple syrup. Later, we had a picnic
near the lake. We had sandwiches and milk.

After lunch, we fed the geese. ‘Honk！
Honk!’ The geese love bread！Then the sky
became dark. There were many clouds. It
began to rain！We ran to the car, but it was
too late. We were all wet！We all laughed.
What a great day！”
“Great work, Steven！Let's give him a big hand，class, ” says Mr. Jones.
(The class claps loudly.)
“Today is another good day，”Steven thinks.
Maple syrup is sweet.

Maple syrup comes from the sap of the maple
tree. It is a very interesting process. First, you
put a tap in the tree so the sap can come out easily.
The fresh sap from the tree is not sweet and it
has almost no taste. Next, you boil the sap.
This makes the sap thick and sweet. Now you
have maple syrup！

午饭后，我们喂了鹅。
(1)feed…to中的feed是及物动词,其后接饲料或食物名词作宾语,to为介词,其后一般接动物或小孩等名词表示对象,其词组意思是“把……喂给……吃”。
例句：Please feed some grass to the cow.
请给牛喂点草。

(2)feed…on 中的feed也是及物动词,其后接人或动物名词作宾语, on后接食物或饲料名词,其词组表示“用……喂……”。on可与with 替换。
例句：The boy was feeding the monkey on/with a banana.
那男孩用香蕉喂猴子。
(3)feed on中的feed为不及物动词,意思是“食,吃”(主要指动物,若指人则为口语或诙谐用语),与介词on连用,其词组意思是“以……为食,靠……为生”,其主语主要用来指动物,也可用于指婴儿,其宾语通常是食物或饲料名词。
例句：Cows feed on grass. 牛以草为食。

sun → sunny 晴朗的　rain → rainy 有雨的　
snow →snowy 有雪的　wind→ windy 有风的

give sb. a big hand 可以有两种用法和解释 (通常第一种用法比较多) ：
1.给某人热烈的鼓掌
The audience give the pianist a big hand for his wonderful performance.
观众为钢琴家的精彩演奏给予热烈的掌声。
2.帮某人一个大忙
He did gave me a big hand in this transaction.
他在这次交易上真是帮了我很大的忙。

look作实义动词，意为“看”，是不及物动词，可构成短语：
look at 看……；look after 照顾，照料；
look for 寻找；look up 查阅；
look out 当心；look out of 向……外看；
look around 环顾四周
