教 学 目 标 Knowledge objectives: Ss are able to understand the details of the main reading chapter in depth . Ss are able to learn the meanings and usages of new words, phrases and sentence patterns, such as provide,in many ways, keep, take in, harmful, major, fighter, against, make, furniture, be made of, cut down, millions of, stop doing sth, without, if-conditional sentences. Ss are able to use these new words in real context. Ability objective: Ss are able to make reasonable inference based on the information in the text. Emotional objective: Students can understand the great contribution that trees have made to mankind and establish the awareness of protecting trees.

Presentation and practice (15 min) Made of be made of 意为“由……制成”。 如:我的课桌是木制的。 My desk is made of wood. 注意区别: be made of 从产品中能看出原材料 be made from 从产品中看不出原材料 这座小桥是石头砌成的。 The small bridge is made of stones. 葡萄酒是由葡萄制成的。 Wine is made from grapes. 【即时训练】根据中文意思完成句子。 1. 这种油是由花生制成的。 This kind of oil ______ ________ _______ peanuts. 2. 这些花是用纸做的。 These flowers ____ _______ ____ paper.
