When two plosive consonants(e.g. /t /, /d /, /p /, /b/, /k/ or /g/) are next to each other, we do not pronounce the first one, and there is usually a short pause between them. We call this a loss of plosion. The following are some examples:

【if的用法】
1. if 作为连词，引导条件状语从句，表示“假如，如果”等。在复合句中如果主句用将来时，则if 引导的状语从句用一般现在时。

One possible version
There are some special methods for remembering English words. First of all, you can imagine a picture “smile” to remember the word “smile”. Second, you can also learn to classify the words into a group. For example, apples, oranges and pears are all fruits. Third, you can divide a word, such as “advantage” which is divided into three parts “ad”, “van” and “tage”. Finally, you can compare two similar words, remembering “buy” and “by” by comparison.
