Step 1 Review Review different hobbies, interests and related vocabulary that the students have learned. Divide the students into groups to make a list of them on the board. And have a competition. Ask students to come to the board and write down one hobby or interest. Once all of the students have had a chance to write a hobby or interest on the board, review the list as a
class.
设计意图：通过回忆学过的爱好，兴趣，对前面所学进行有效的归纳总结，为本节课的深入开展 奠定基础。
Step 2. Think about it Why is it important to have hobbies Do good friends always have the same hobbies Why or why not Discuss the Think About It questions in class. Introduce and explain the new words among the discussion.
设计意图：通过讨论问题，来激发学生的学习兴趣，既是对已学知识的巩固，也是对本单元话题 的进一步延伸，并在讨论过程中，引入和学习本课新单词，使学生们轻松掌握新单词。
Step 3 Fast reading Instruct the students to read Lesson 42 silently and match the correct information Students should check and correct their answers in groups. Discuss the answers as a class Have Ss read Lesson 42 silently and finish the exercise. Have Ss work in groups to check their answers. Let several Ss present their answers to the class.
