Unit 7 It’s raining! 1a-2c（教学设计）
教材分析 What：These are conversations about describing the weather and daily activities. Why：Let students know how to describe weather in English. And how to use these words to make the small talk. How：1a-1c is a simple chain of listening and speaking tasks. 1a leads to the topic of "talking about the weather", 1b creates a real-life scenario of "phone calls" in which people ask questions about the weather in their cities, and sections 2a-2c are richer in listening input and include "be doing ". 2c is a spoken pairing activity based on 2a-2b.
教学目标 By the end of this lesson, students will be able to: 1. 语言能力：Learn to use new weather-related vocabulary to talk about the weather and greet them through listening and speaking activities. 2. 学习能力：Feel the regional differences by learning about different weather conditions around the world. Understand that talking about the weather is an important part of small talk. 3. 文化意识：Accurately obtain information about the weather and activities through listening and speaking activities, express personal views and opinions in connection with oneself, improve the logic and criticality of thinking, and realize the transfer of thinking ability. 4. 思维品质：Promote the improvement of listening and speaking ability and improve learning efficiency through pre-listening prediction, listening recording, and post-listening retelling. Stay interested in learning English by talking about the weather and daily activities.

Step 1 T greets students. Then T invites Ss to watch a video about weather forecast.. Ss watch a video and then pay attention to the weather words. Video can arise students’ scheme and create an active classroom atmosphere.

Pre-listening (7’)
Step 2 T presents the pictures of different countries. and teaches the new words one by one. Ss learn the expressions of asking and answer weather Learning the expressions of weather can lay a good foundation for following learning.
Step 2 T leads Ss to finish 1a. Match the words with the pictures [a-e]. Ss finish 1a. Practice can enhance the expressions of weather.

While-listening (15’)
Step 4 T plays the recording for the first time to ask Ss to finish the match exercise. What’s the weather like in these cities Ss listen to the record and finish the match exercise It can help Ss improve their ability of listening.
Step 5 T plays the recording for the second time to ask Ss to finish 1b. Ss listen to the record and write these city names in the boxes above. It can help Ss improve their ability of listening and writing.
Step 6 T invites Ss to look at the pictures in 2a and predict what they are doing. T plays the recording in 2a for the first time to ask Ss to finish 2a. T plays the recording for the second time to ask Ss to complete 2b. After that. T invites some Ss to show their answers. Ss practice sentence structure, then listen to the conversation , and finish 2a and 2b. It can help Ss further improve their ability of speaking. Discussing and sharing answers can improve Ss’ ability of criticizing.

Post-listening (10’)
Step 7 T asks Ss to talk about the people in 2a with a partner. Ss practice conversations in 2c. with their partner. It can help Ss improve their ability of listening and speaking.
Step 8 T asks Ss to retell the what Linda’s family are doing Ss make a retell practice. Ss can practice their spoken English.

Exercise (5’)

Conclusion (3’)
Step10 T gives a mind map about what are learned today. Ss recall the learned knowledge of today. Mind map and summary of new knowledge can help students further understand and remember them.
