Cultural Consciousness To improve interest in English language and culture and train students to bear hardships, but also have an optimistic spirit.

Step 1. Lead in Have a free talk with T. T: What if you were left alone on an unknown island Wait for death?Shout for help?Or find a way to survive. Sa: I must be helpless. Sb: I will shout for help. T: Can you imagine what problems you will have on the island Ss: no food, no house, no weapon, loneliness, danger, ... Step 2. Pre-reading. Read the brief-introduction of Robinson Crusoe. Watch a short video about the story. T; How did the novel begin T: What would happen next Step 3. While-reading. Fast reading. 1)Learn about the story of Robinson on the island. T: This story is written in the first person, which is easy to understand. T: It is written according to the time line. T: When did the story happen A. Now B. In the past C. In the future. 2)Read the passage quickly and find out the characters in this passage. 3)Find out the main idea of each paragraph. Para 1 Robinson's new life on the island.
Para 2 The story of Robinson and his friend Friday. Robinson saved a man called Friday. Robinson tried hard to survive by himself on the island. Robinson lived on the island alone. Careful reading. Read Para.1 and answer: T: Did he just give up or fight to survive T: What did Robinson Crusoe wait for T: Before another ship came, he must find the ways to survive, what did he do T: What could he do with these things Watch a video about it. T: From nothing to having a new life, what do you think of Robinson? Sa: He never gives up, and he tries hard to survive. Sb: He is smart. Sc: He has a strong mind. Sd: He is optimistic. Read Para.2 and answer: Observe the picture and recognize the people in it. T: Can you guess where the marks came from T: How did Robinson feel when he saw the mark Go on reading carefully and find out the answers to these questions. Q1.What did he see?
