1. First，put some butter on a piece of bread.
首先,在一片面包上抹上一些黄油。(P28)
a piece of意为“一片，一块，一段”。
Please give him a piece of meat.请给他一块肉。
[拓展]a piece of后通常跟不可数名词，表示数量:
如果表示的数量超过一时，则piece用复数形式。
a piece of短语作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式;
two/three..pieces of短语作主语时，谓语动词用复数形式。

盘子里有三片面包。
a piece of 有多重含义:
a piece of 一块, 一片, 一条,一首 ,一张

(1)此句中的动词不定式 to give thanks for…在句中作定语，修饰time。
动词不定时做定语时，放在被修饰的词后面，即作后置定语。

[注意]当作定语的不定式和被修饰词构成动宾关系，而且动词又是不及物动词时，其后应该加上适当的介词。

(2)give thanks for sth.意为“因某事而表示感谢”，

我们对你的帮助表示感谢。
（3）give thanks to sb,意为“对某人表示感谢”

fill此处为及物动词，意为“(使)充满;装满”
fill…with ,意为“用....装满..... ”
be filled with 意为“装满，充满”

[拓展] full 为形容词，意为“满的”，其反义词empty ,be full of意为“充满”与be filled with同义。

How to make tomato and egg noodles
It’s easy to make tomato and egg noodles. First, wash two tomatoes and some green onions, and cut them up. We also need two eggs and some noodles. Then pour some oil into the pot. When it's hot, put the green onions and eggs in. Cook for a short while. Next, add the tomatoes to the pot and cook for about five minutes. Don't forget to add two spoons of salt and a little sugar. After that, add four cups of water and you'll get a pot of soup. Finally, cook the noodles in the soup for eight minutes. One more thing. Get the tomato and egg noodles in a big bowl. It's time to enjoy them!
