Ban Chiang Archaeological Site
班清考古地点
Ban Chiang is considered the most important prehistoric settlement so far discovered in South-East Asia.
It marks an important stage in human cultural, social and technological evolution. The site presents the earliest evidence of farming in the region and of the manufacture and use of metals.
Eating out is one of the joys when traveling. So, how to dine out in a restaurant Here are some tips for you:
Background Information
Choosing a Restaurant Some restaurants are open for breakfast, others are open twenty-four hours a day. A number of restaurants call themselves “family restaurants”. Many of these serve no alcohol and have fairly restricted menus which include steaks, hamburgers, omelettes and sandwiches, and all are at very reasonable prices.
Background Information
Reserving a Table It is often necessary to make a reservation. Otherwise you will see long queues of people in rush hours. Many restaurants have a no-smoking section.
Background Information
Arriving at Restaurant (Bar)
When you arrive at a restaurant (bar), usually you will have to wait for a “hostess” or “captain” to escort you to a table. When your waiter or waitress takes your order, it is not very normal for one person to order for the whole table. Each person orders separately, except in the most expensive restaurants.
Background Information
Summoning a waiter You may find your waiter unusually friendly. To summon a waiter in a American restaurant
you may call “Bill”, “Mary”, “Claude”, or whatever. Waiters and waitresses often actually introduce themselves when they first come to your table or wear name tags, you are permitted to use their first names.
Background Information
Paying the Bill The bill (also called “check”) comes usually with added tax but no service charge----though some restaurant do now add a service charge. The etiquette books say that you should leave a 10% tip for lunch, 15% for dinner. The tip should be calculated on the basis of the total before the addition of tax. At many restaurants you can ask the waiter to bring the bill and then pay at a cash desk on the way out.

下龙湾 Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars.
Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence.
The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest

Kakadu National Park
This unique archaeological and ethnological reserve, located in the Northern Territory, has been inhabited continuously for more than 40,000 years.
The cave paintings, rock carvings and archaeological sites record the skills and way of life of the region’s inhabitants, from the hunter-gatherers of prehistoric times to the Aboriginal people still living there.
It is a unique example of a complex of ecosystems, including tidal flats, floodplains, lowlands and plateaux, and provides a habitat for a wide range of rare or endemic species of plants and animals.
Great Barrier Reef 大堡礁
The Great Barrier Reef is a site of remarkable variety and beauty on the north-east coast of Australia.
It contains the world’s largest collection of coral reefs, with 400 types of coral, 1,500 species of fish and 4,000 types of mollusc.
