We should review the applicant’s resume first and make a decision if we should invite him/her to come in for an interview. Once we decide that we should meet the candidate to find out more out of him/her, we should prepare for the interview appointment and talk to the candidate to set the time.

During an interview, the skill of asking questions is the most important thing because you need to find out a lot of information about the candidate through questions. However, what I want to share with you is a secret that there is one skill more important than asking valid questions, that is, listening skills.
You must pay full attention to what the candidate tells you during the interview. Listen carefully and pay complete attention while you gain detailed information from what he/she shares with you, this can help you to know which candidate is right for the position.

Edward is a newly hired waiter from All Day Dining Restaurant. Before he starts his job in All Day Dining Restaurant, Edward is very eager to know what the hotel and the restaurant look like. He also wants to know who will be his boss and what he needs to do if he wants to ask for leave. There is also a lot of other information he wants to know urgently, such as, where is the Employee Restaurant, where the toilet is, what the shift schedule is and how to take the hotel shuttle bus, etc. He is informed by the Human Resources Department that he should attend a training Orientation. He expects that he will get a lot of information from the training.
Please state the importance of Orientation for new employees.
