Mr. Smith, the leader of the Chinese and America friendly visiting delegation, is accompanying the group visiting Beijing. Their tour guide, Linli, from China Comfort Travel Agency has already planned a series of wonderful entertainment activities for the delegation.

L: Now we are going to Changan Theater to see Peking Opera.
S: That’s great! I’ve heard of Peking Opera, but I have never seen a live performance.
F: Can you tell us some information about Peking Opera
L: Sure. Peking Opera in China has a history of approximately 200 years.
F: Wow! That’s amazing!
L: It is a local drama of Beijing with wide influence throughout the whole country, therefore it is named “National Opera”. It has five main leads, i.e. the male, old male, female, painted face and clown.
F: Sounds interesting！

S: What repertoire are we going to watch
L: “Farewell, My Concubine”. It is a touching story.
F: What is the story about
L: It is a sad love story which is about a defeated king whose concubine killed herself.
F: But how can I understand the performance if the actors sing in Chinese
L: Don’t worry. There are English lines shown beside the stage. And you can enjoy the fantastic facial-ups and splendid costumes.
F: Great! I am looking forward to watching the performance.
S: Me too. You are so lucky to have such wonderful heritage.
B: Yes, we are. I hope you can enjoy our Peking Opera.

S: I have never imagined that the teahouse is so big. What does Lao She mean
L: Well. The teahouse is named after a Chinese great writer Lao She who wrote a famous play named Teahouse.
S: Sounds interesting!

Dialogue 2 Drinking Tea（品茶）
L: The teahouse was built in 1988. People can have Beijing traditional food, watch Chinese folk performance and enjoy tea here. It is called the landmark of Beijing Culture.
S: So we are here to enjoy the tea, right
L: Yes. China is the home of tea. You can drink different kinds of tea here.
S: How many kinds of tea altogether？
L: Generally speaking, Chinese tea may be classified into five categories according to the different methods by which it is processed. It includes green tea, black tea, Wulong tea, scented tea and compressed tea.
S: How wonderful! I am eager to know more about Chinese tea.
L: There is a tea culture exhibition hall in Lao She Teahouse. I will tell you more information while we visiting the hall.
S: That’s so nice! Thank you!

Dialogue 3 Watching Performance（观看演出）
L: Here we are. The show will start in 5 minutes. Please take your tickets and sit in the right place.
S: What kind of programs are we going to watch
L: The show is performed by Chinese Acrobatic Circus. Some of the program won international gold medals.

S: Wow. The acrobats are so great. How could they do such difficult performance! I am afraid the girls might fall down and hurt themselves.
