Every October, my neighborhood has a Halloween costume contest. And every October, my neighbor Ollie and I race to the announcement board in the park to find out the theme. One year, the theme was “Dress up as your favorite book character.” Another year, it was “Be something scary.” But this year, the theme was kind of, well, themeless.
“Be creative ” I said, reading the announcement board. “That's not really a theme, is it ”
Ollie hopped off his skateboard s to get a closer look. “You're right,” he agreed. “I think my favorite theme ever was ‘Superheroes’. I loved my Super-Force Flying Eagles costume so much, I kept that thing hanging in my close t for years!”
“My favorite theme was ‘Farm Animals’.” I giggled. “Remember how you insisted on being a Stegosaurus (剑龙) ”
“When I was five, dinosaurs were my world.” Ollie laughed. “I would have loved to see a Stegosaurus out grazing with the cows.”
“Now that's the creative spirit we need for this challenge!” I said. “Maybe, since we don't know exactly what we want to be yet, we should start by choosing some cool costume-making materials. ”
“I've got it!” Ollie said, scooping up a bunch of fallen leaves.
“Really ” I said. “You're going to make an entire costume out of leaves ”
“Why not ” he said, scooping up some more.
“They're totally free, and I can guarantee, no one will be a tree as great as me.”
“Don't you mean, a tree as great as we ” I grinned.
“Um, first, that grammar doesn't sound right,” said Ollie. “And second, no way! Think of your own creative ideas.”
“Aw, come on,” I said. “You should be flattered that Ilike your idea so much. Plus, I just thought of the perfect way to make branches.”
Finally, Ollie said OK.
Paragraph 1: We ended up filling two jumbo bags with different kinds of leaves.
Paragraph 2: Then the big moment came.
写作步骤：
1. 先读文章，简单的说就是两个主人公要用树叶做衣服，参加万圣节装扮比赛。线下的朋友们做这个题的障碍主要集中在：- costume这个单词不认识，和custom习俗弄混了- 觉得提到了branch，branch就必须在续写中出现。其实不一定。- the theme was kind of, well, themeless.“Be creative ” I said, reading the announcement board. 这几句话没读仔细，认为主题是"无主题"，然后“be creative”只是主人公自己的murmur。(实际上，前面说了主题会写在布告板上，主人公读的是布告板，所以暗示了主题）（这种误解对做题影响倒不大)
2. 接着读给出的首句之后，然后猜测整个续写的结局了，避免写着写着偏题的可能性。注意：读后续写结局一定是一个道理or展望美好未来 。这篇文章可以猜到，结局就是我们成功装扮好，让众人耳目一新。
3. 粗略安排每段的布局
按照以前推文里分析过的，我们的目标就是每段写5～6句。
第一段：可以写具体做衣服的过程
s1: 兴奋
s2: 期待
第一二句话的惯用套路：上来就描述情感，第一句第二句还可以有一个层次变化。
s3:环境描写+结合动作
第三句话：我们就可以用上续写文章中给到的季节、节日、日期提示，用上一个具体的环境元素。
s4:做衣服开始：扫除担忧、排列树叶
s5:做衣服过程：劳动的痕迹
s6:做衣服结束
第4、5、6句话：本来做衣服会是一个“谁在哪里做什么”一句话就能完成的场景，如果要“凑字数”，我们就可以从三个阶段去考虑。
第二段：都说big moment了，那肯定是比赛开始，各种展示，各种惊叹，各种升华。
s1: 铺垫情绪
s2：开始：走入比赛
s3: 开始：看到的场景
s4: 过程：众人惊叹
s5: 结尾：友情、创造力，无论输赢
第二段，还是“谁在哪里做什么”的基本模式，只不过这次要拉长到四句话的空间，那么就可以某个阶段写两句话。
成文：
We ended up filling two jumbo bags with different kinds of leaves. We were really excited as we chose the colorful leaves, imagining how we could make them into fun costumes. As we gathered more leaves, our excitement grew, and we started brainstorming ideas together. We laughed a lot and tried different ways to arrange the leaves. While we worked, we stopped worrying about the theme and simply enjoyed being creative. Our hands became messy with the stains of leaves, but we enjoyed making something special from nature's gifts. When we finished, our new clothes were brimming with potential, ready for us to create awesome appearances.
Then the big moment came. Proudly, we wore our leafy costumes, eager to see others' creations. As we reached the contest area, we felt a mix of excitement and anticipation. There were many impressive costumes, each displaying people's creativity. Among them, our leafy outfits stood out, demonstrating how friendship and imagination can create something amazing. As we joined the festivities, smiling at each other and admiring everyone's work, we realized that winning or not, we had already made wonderful memories and strengthened our friendship through our shared joy of creating together.
