This is a listening class and the listening material is a conversation about a three-day visit to Mount Tai.

III.Teaching Procedure
1. Leading-in(5 minutes)
After greeting students, the teacher will play an English song called Let’s travel and ask one question: Do you want to have a spring field trip Then the teacher will invite some volunteers to share their opinions. After that, the teacher will give corresponding comments on students' answers and show the topic of this lesson.
T:Good morning,everyone.Before we move on to a new lesson, let’s play an English song to relax.
T: Can you guess the topic of this song It’s also about the topic of our lesson.
T:Right!It’s about a spring field trip.
2.Pre-listening (8 minutes)
(1)New knowledge teaching
With the help of blackboard and textbook, the teacher will guide students to understand the meaning and usage of the new words and sentences.
(2)Prediction
Before listening, the teacher will organize students to make predictions. Some hints will be provided to help them.
Hint1:Words and sentences just referred to.
Hint2:Topic of this material- We’re going to a three-day visit to Mount Tai.
Hint3:A picture in which students can see the teacher and classmates discussing the spring field trip.
T:Now,look at the picture.What do you see in this picture
T:yeah, one teacher and some classmates is discussing.
What are they talking about Let’s listen to this conversation with our prediction and new knowledge.
3.While-listening (15 minutes)
(1)Extensive listening
Ask students to listen to the tape for the first time to check their prediction within 3 minutes, and then conclude the main idea of the conversation.
T:Listen to the tape for the first time, you can check your prediction, and try to conclude the main idea of the conversation.
(2)Intensive listening
Ask students to listen to the tape again and do the following task:
1b Listen to 1a and mark T(True) and F(False).
For their spring field trip, they’re going on a three-day visit to Mount Tai. ( )
It will take them a few days to get there by bus. ( )
Kangkang and Michael will find the cost for the train. ( )
Helen will find the cost for the plane. ( )
Miss Wang will decide on the best way to travel. ( )
T:Listen to the tape for the second time, and complete the true or false question.
(3)Listening and repeating
Students will listen to the tape for the third time and read for it.They should pay attention to pronunciation and intonation.
T:Listen to the tape for the last time, you should pay attention to pronunciation and intonation.
4.Post - listening (12 minutes)
Group discussion
Students will be asked to work in pairs and discuss the best way to travel.
Some example will be given:
A:How much does it cost to get to Mount Tai by... B:It costs ...
A:How long does it take go there by ... B:It takes ...
A.The best way to get there is by... because... B:I think so./...
Several minutes will be given. When time' up, some students will be invited to share their results. Then the teacher will comment on students' performance.
T:So far, we have finished step 2 and we're going to move on to step 3, discussion.
T:In this task, you need to think and discuss. The question is, what is the best way to travel
You need to express your attitudes and reasons towards the way to travel.
5.Summary and homework(5min)
(1)Summary
The teacher can ask students to acts as assistants to conclude what they have learned from this class, and then make a summary together.
