资源简介 Unit 5 Languages Around the WorldReading for Writing 教案教材分析:课时通过Wang Le, Liu Wen, Jia Xi, Li Rui的博客,分别介绍了四人的英语学习问题及建议。重点表达主要涉及描述英语学习问题等话题,如description, relate to, vocabulary, demand, equals等。重点句式主要涉及具体描述学习问题、学习风格,以及给朋友提建议等,如I have no idea how/what…, my advice is…, it’s very important to…等。通过本课时的学习,学生能够通过就英语学习的问题通过博客书面发表自己的意见,加深对语言学习的了解。教学策略与设计说明:采用交际法 (communicative teaching),将语言任务与日常生活应用相结合,创造出真实的交际语境,将介绍问题和解决问题两部分与日常的社交生活紧密结合,使学生能够顺利完成一系列交际性任务目标。采用任务型教学法(Task-based language teaching),布置活动任务,让学生模仿样例,制作自己的博客,设置活动目的,引导学生完成相关任务,达成各教学步骤设计目的。教学目标:在本课学习结束时,学生能够:语言能力上,通过阅读学习四则博客,理解并掌握如何正确地描述自己的问题,寻求帮助,并且恰当地给对方提建议。掌握一系列描述问题,解决问题,提出建议的句型表达,如 this worked for me, … is a big difficulty for me等。思维品质上,在阅读沟通、解决英语学习问题的博客过程中,帮助学生建立起反思自身学习问题,合作解决问题的能力。文化意识上,结合上课时学习的中文汉字发展,对比中英学习过程中的困难,进一步加深对英文学习的了解。学习能力上,学生能通过阅读博客,表达对英语学习的看法,就学习问题交流、发表自己的意见建议,培养解决问题的思维以及归纳能力。教学重点:学生通过阅读Wang Le, Liu Wen, Jia Xi, Li Rui的博客,梳理博客中的内容及基本结构,掌握如何书面表达自己的学习问题以及提出建议。教学难点:准确理解博客中的主要内容及大概框架,掌握常用的表达方式和基本句型,能够写出结构完整,内容正确的小作文。教学资源:教材、多媒体课件、黑板与粉笔。教学过程:步骤 教学活动 设计意图 时间与模式Step 1 Lead in: At the beginning of this lesson, T asks: Do you have any problems in learning English How are you going to solve them Then ask Ss to talk about problems and ask for help from partners. T can encourage Ss to firstly describe the problems and secondly ask for suggestions from partners. Examples: Poor writing ability make reading a habit;learn writing methods; accumulate vocabulary; practice writing by take down diaries Poor vocabulary: Good English dictionaries; Vocabulary notebooks; mind maps... 通过自由讨论,让学生结合自身经验,反思自身英语学习的困难和问题,并且运用已知知识和同伴交流、寻求建议。 5’ CWStep 2 Read and fill: Before reading, T analyses blog structure and remind Ss to focus on key information in the passages. Tips: Blog structure: 1. background description – problems – ask for help. 2. giving advice – own problems Focus on key information about problems and advice. 拓展学生对于博客的理解。Step 2 Read and fill: T asks Ss to Read these posts from an online forum for Chinese students who are learning English and fill in the table on page 67. After reading the post, Ss fill the column of Liu Wen. Then read the part of Jia Xin, and fill in the column of Jia Xin. At last, the overall table will be presented. Key Words: 1. Equal; be equal to/in; equally; equality. 2. gap; gap between/in sth; the gap between rich and poor; the gap between theory and practice; gap year. 3. demand; be in (great) demand; meet/satisfy one’s demand; demand to do sth. 4. vocabulary, to have a wide/limited vocabulary. 结合导入,让学生阅读课本上的博客内容,并且归纳出问题和建议,锻炼学生的归纳能力。 10’ GWStep 3 Brainstorming: After Ss finished the table, T asks Ss to think more advice for these three people. Suggested answers: 1. Learn some strategy in listening. Ignore the details. 2. Watch relevant movies. 3. Make sentences when memorizing new words. 让学生对相关学习问题进行进一步的思考,发散思维,拓展延伸。 5’ CW/IWStep 4 Brainstorming: T leads Ss to think about their own English learning problems from 4 aspects (listening, reading, speaking and writing). Using writing as an example, consider what kind of problem students may have in the fields. Then give suggestions. Last step, T teaches Ss how to use sentences and give an example. Example: Writing Problem: structure, words using, grammar errors… Advice: read writing sample, imitate first, exchange papers for double check… Sample answer: Writing passage structure is a big difficulty for me You might try to read more sample writing for helping you have a deeper understanding about passage structure.Step 4 Group work: T teach some expressions used in blogs, and ask Ss to work in groups to list problems in learning English and brainstorm some useful advice. Suggested answers: I cannot understand the teacher’s English in class. -----Talk to the teacher. / ask when you’re confused. I fell behind of my group. ------Ask for help from your classmates. I read very slowly. ------Learn some strategies like scanning. 结合文本,通过句型对文本内容进行梳理。之后让学生反复操练句型和表达方式来描述自己的学习问题。 8’ GW/CWStep 5 Write a blog: T asks Ss to write a blog step by step through the sample blog. Describe the problem clearly. You can write about: What is your problem How does this problem affect you What factors do you think caused your problem Write one or two ideas on how to solve the problem. You can write about: Suggestions from yourself/ classmates/ teachers. Strategies read on the book. Exchange drafts. Assess each other’s work according to the checklist. Get your draft back and revise it. You can pay attention to: Do you have a complete structure Will it be a good blog How to make it more personal and attractive Presentation: present Ss’s writing and read it to the class. 结合博客样本,引导学生根据步骤编写制作自己的博客,鼓励学生从自身出发,思考自身英语学习问题。 12’ GW/CWStep 6 Homework: Ss are asked to think about the following questions: 1. Is writing blogs a useful way to solve learning problems 2. Can you think of other ways to solve your problems Suggested answers: 1. Writing blogs is a useful way to solve learning problems. Because it can help me clarify my learning problems. And I can receive the comments and suggestions from others. 2.
