Section A (3a-3c)
教 材 分 析 本课的教学内容是人教版八年级下册第4单元Why don’t you talk to your parents Section A(3a-3c)的阅读材料,需要一个课时完成。本单元的中心话题是人际交往,语言功能是谈论人际交往和学习问题,并给出建议。Section A的重点是学习人际交往和学习问题的表达方式以及给建议的相关句型,学会谈论自己和他人的问题,并能针对问题给出简单的建议。Section A 1a-2d部分以听说训练为主,3a-3c则是一个完整的阅读模块,由听说过渡到阅读和笔头。Section A(3a-3c)由三个活动组成:(1)阅读语篇,找出问题和建议,完成表格;(2)根据Mr. Hunt提出的建议,学生思考是否认同Mr. Hunt的建议并给出理由;(3)理解文章生词,从文章中找出与相关词汇同义的生词或者词组。课文以书信的形式出现,是一个学生以笔名给学校心理咨询师写信讲述自己的家庭问题和感受,并得到了咨询师的回信和建议。人际交往是中学生常见问题,贴近学生生活和实际,具有可读性,容易引起学生的共鸣。
教 学 目 标 1.Knowledge and skills: (1)Students are able to learn more about interpersonal relationship problems and express feeling so that they can revise their letters about problems. (2)Students are able to learn more about how to give advice and apply the new target language to their writing. (3)Students are able to use different reading skills to find out others’ problems and feelings from letters, and understand the advice others give to them. 2.Processes and methods: (1)Students are expected to find out Sad and Thirteen’s problems and feelings as well as their classmates’ problems and feelings by using different reading skills like skimming and scanning. (2)Students are able to learn more new target language about how to write about problems and give advice by summarizing the letters from Sad and Thirteen and Mr. Hunt so that they can revise their letters and reply to their classmates to give advice. (3)Students can work in pair or group to discuss the question and share their ideas so that they can get help from others to finish different activities and tasks. 3.Emotion, attitudes and value: (1)Students are able to realize that sharing their problems is a good way to solve problems and have the courage to share their own problems. (2)Students are willing to help others get out of problems and know how to give advice and comfort others in proper way.

学情分析 (1)知识基础 在学习本课时之前,学生在前两课时已经学习了人际交往和学习问题的相关表达方式以及给建议的相关句型,有一定的知识基础,并且本课时通过两封信呈现一个学生的家庭问题以及Mr Hunt对该学生的问题提出针对性的建议,内容与学生生活息息相关,贴近学生实际,所以尽管文章含有个别生词,但学生在生活中有类似的经历和体会,这些生词对学生的阅读理解不会造成太大障碍。但这些新表达是对本单元所学话题内容的一个延伸,学生可以通过本课时的学习补充本单元话题的相关表达。 (2)心理技能 八年级学生八年级学生处于叛逆期,不愿意通过与家人或者老师沟通的方式来倾诉自己的问题。本课正好以一个学生通过书信的方式来倾诉自己的问题从而获得心理咨询师的建议,重在启发学生要懂得疏通自己的烦恼,可通过书信等渠道来获得帮助。 (3)学习需要 学生通过之前的学习已经能简单描述自己的问题并根据别人的问题提出简单的建议。但之前的学习以听说为主,而本课时以书面的形式将本单元所学话题内容更系统综合地整合在一起,学习如何以书面形式表达自己的烦恼,如何阅读他人的信件分析对方的问题从而回信给予具体合理的建议和安慰对方成为了学生的学习需要。
教学设计过程
Stage 1. Share problems (3mins) Students are asked to write a letter about their own problems in relationship or study. It’s time to check students’ homework and ask them to share their homework. (上节课学生已经学习了人际关系和学习问题的相关表达以及简单给出建议的内容,所以家庭作业是学生可以用笔名在信纸上简单写下自己的学习或者人际关系问题和感受。通过课前检查学生的作业,既可以复习上节课所学内容和检查上节课对所学知识的掌握情况,发现学生问题,为下文阅读Sad and Thirteen的信件学习如何写信倾述自己的烦恼做准备。) Stage 2. Reading (26mins) Step1. Skimming(2mins) T: Different people have different problems. And it’s important for us to solve our problems. Here is a student named Sad and Thirteen. He also has a problem. Now let’s see what happened to him and how he solves his problems. Ask students to read these two passages very quickly and think about the following questions one by one: What kind of passage are they What is the first letter about Who wrote it What is the second letter about Who wrote it When students answer these there questions, they should also tell us how he knows it. (通过设置这些问题,引导学生通过skimming获取两封信的大意,并要求学生要说出自己的答题依据,旨在让学生找出总说句或者找出关键词,培养学生的阅读和概括能力,同时也为后面学生阅读同班同学的来信向大家概括信件内容做准备。) 1.Work on the first letter (13mins) (1)Skimming(2mins) T: The first letter is about problems, so what are his problems Now skim the first letter and find out his problems. Please finish the following exercise and tell us where you can find the answer in the letter. Q1: What is Sad and Thirteen's problem A. He has too much homework to do. B. He can’t get on with his family. C. He got into a fight with his friend. Q2: Who is the problem about his parents B. his parents and elder brother C. his friends. (通过快速阅读和查找关键词获取Sad and Thirteen的问题,培养学生通过阅读获取信息的能力,这些阅读技巧的渗透和培养也为后面学生通过关键词获取他人问题等信息做准备。让学生找出答题依据可以让学生学习作者的表达方式和用词,如my problem is that..和also等,以便由口头表述问题过渡到学习以书面形式描述自己的问题。) (2)Scanning (4mins) T: Now we have known about Sad and Thirteen’s problems with his parents and brother. But what happened to them and how did he feel Now let’s read it again and find more details about his problems and feelings. You can work in group to finish the following mind map. problems (通过扫读,学生获取更多关于Sad and Thirteen问题和感受的细节,在完成该项活动的过程中学生先自我感知表达人际关系问题的新表达。以思维导图的方式呈现,可以让学生更清楚文章的结构,为下面让学生自我总结描述问题的写作框架做准备。让学生以小组形式共同完成该项活动,可以让好生带动差生,帮助差生学会通过扫读寻找细节。) (3)Careful reading (4mins) Ask students to fill in the banks and read his problems and feelings together.

Let’s read the second letter and see how Mr. Hunt help Sad and Thirteen to lower his stress. Ask students to read the second letter and fill in the following chart.

Q: Do you agree with Mr. Hunt Why (让学生思考并讨论3c的问题,可以培养学生的思维能力,并通过此问题让学生发表自己对于家庭问题的思考。) (4)Summary(3mins) Ask students to summarize how to reply to others’ problems and give advice and add more they have learned. Writing (10mins) 1.Revise letters(2mins) Ask students to revise and polish their own letters. 2.Reply to others’ problem(8mins) Ask student to exchange their letters in group and reply to others’ problems. Step2. Sharing (5mins) Invite several students to share their letters. They should tell us the content of the letters they receive in their own words first and share us their reply. (学生通过今天的学习掌握了如何书面表达自己的烦恼,让学生自主修改信件可以检验学生的学习情况。通过最后回信的大任务的设置,让学生真实任务中运用本节课学习到的内容。) Stage4.
