《课程标准解读》
单词又称语汇，是一种语言中所有词和词组的综合。词是语言的建构材料，也是最小的能够独立运用的语言单位。词汇中的任何词语都是通过一定的句法关系和语义关系与其他词语建立起一定联系的，并在语境中传递信息。
【知识讲解】
1．observe vt.观察(到)；注视；遵守；庆祝；观测；观察
(1)observe sb.do sth.观察某人做某事
observe sb.doing sth.观察某人正在做某事
observe that ...观察……
(2)observe the traffic rules遵守交通规则
observe Christmas庆祝圣诞节
(1)The twins observed their father make some sandwiches closely.观察
(2)Though having lived abroad for years, many Chinese still observe the traditional customs.遵守
(3)With a joyful heart we observed our National Day. 庆祝
2．remind vt.提醒；使想起( reminder n．起提醒作用的东西；提醒者)
remind sb. of sth.　 提醒某人某事
remind sb. that ... 提醒某人……
remind sb. to do sth. 提醒某人做某事
这张海报提醒我们必须立即采取措施保护濒临灭绝的动物。
①The poster reminds us that we must take immediate measures to protect endangered creatures.(remind sb. that ...)
②The poster reminds us to take immediate measures to protect endangered creatures.(remind sb. to do sth.)
3．intend vi.& vt.打算；计划；想要( intention n．用意；目的；意图)
(1)intend doing/to do sth.打算做某事
intend sb. to do sth.打算让某人做某事
had intended to do sth.本来打算做某事
(2)be intended to do sth./for sth.有计划做某事；故意做某事
(3)with an/the intention of抱有……的目的
E.g.(1)Intended (intend) to enrich students' school life, our program features the fun of English.
(2)The university is known for its unusual language and culture courses intended for international students.
4．due adj.由于；因为；预期的；到期的；应归于；适当的
(1)be due　预定/计划(做)某事
(2)(be) due to sb. 应支付/给予/归于某人
(3)(be) due to 由于，因为
Due to the rapid development of technology, online learning has become more and more popular.
句型：“only ＋状语”位于句首的部分倒装
The twins become less anxious only when their father offered to help with the breakfast.(2021·新高考Ⅰ卷读后续写)
→①Only when their father offered to help with the breakfast did the twins become less anxious．(倒装)
→②It was only when their father offered to help with the breakfast that the twins became less anxious.(强调句型)
注意：(1)only放在句首修饰状语(通常是副词、介词短语或when/if引导的状语从句等)时，主句需部分倒装；
(2)only放在句首修饰主语时不倒装。
6．句型：This is why... “这是……的原因”
This/That is why ...这/那就是……的原因(why引导的从句表示结果)
This/That is because ...这/那是因为……(because引导的从句表示原因)
The reason why ...is that ...……的原因是……(why引导定语从句)
