教材分析:
该板块由三部分组成,第一部分是语言知识检测,训练学生课标的重点词汇搭配,引导学生在语境中体会过去分词作表语和状语的用法。第二部分是自我反思活动,帮助学生全面回顾本单元的学习情况。第三部分是项目活动,主题是“探索音乐的有趣之处”(exploring interesting aspects about music),学生需要组成小组,选择感兴趣的话题,安排任务分工,参考名人自传,整合信息,最后展示项目成果。
教学策略与设计说明:
采用任务型教学法(Task-based language teaching),布置活动任务,设置活动目的,引导学生完成相关任务,达成各教学步骤设计目的。
教学目标:
在本课学习结束时,学生能够:
语言能力上,在语境中理解和运用本单元核心词汇,掌握词汇的搭配情况;巩固和体会过去分词在表语和状语的用法。
思维品质上,发散思维,积极思考,用批判性的眼光审视自身的经历,并辨析,判断其中的价值,针对各种观点提出自己的见解。
文化品格上,了解音乐其他有趣的方面,如,音乐艺术家,音乐电影等,探索音乐背后的文化价值,陶冶自身情操,培养健康的审美情趣。
学习能力上,掌握制作展示文档的方法和及技巧,运用言语策略和非言语策略展示项目成果,提高口语表能力。
教学重点:
学生能够巩固重点词汇的意义,形式和搭配,掌握过去分词作表语和状语的功能。
学生能够小组合作,展示项目成果并轮流进行口头陈述。
教学难点:
学生难以从多维度考虑音乐的相关话题。
学生对制作展示文档和陈述报告缺乏了解。

Step 1 Lead-in: T invites some Ss to pick their favorite songs and sing to the class. After that, Ss use structures they’ve learned to express why they like the songs. 鼓励学生唱歌,调动学习氛围,回顾表达喜好原因的结构和词汇。 8’ CW

Step 4 Questions: Ss think about the question “What do you think of the girl's experience in learning music ” T could analyse the structure of passage and review the contents with Ss. Then, based on these, Ss could discuss their opinions. Suggested answers: Practice makes perfect. Even though you don't have great talent for music, you can still succeed through your hard work. T asks Ss the question “Have you ever learned a musical instrument What have you learned from your experience ” Suggested answers: Interest is the best teacher; never give up; ... 训练学生的批判性思维能力,发表自己不同的观点。 10’ CW
Step 5 Reflecting: Ss think about the questions below. What new music types did you learn in this unit What useful vocabulary or structures did you learn in this unit Could you talk with your friends about music, musicians, and/or their influence on your life after doing this unit What aspect of music would you like to learn more about, and why 引导学生全面回顾本单元的学习情况,培养学生形成善于反思的学习习惯。 5’ CW
Step 6 Watch and answer: Ss watch a video and think about the questions below. What do you know about the video Suggested answers: (1) It's about a piano performance. (2) It's about classical music. (3)The musical instrument is piano. 播放视频,激活学生的背景知识,为下面完成项目活动作铺垫。 4’ CW
Step 7 Topics: Ss work in groups and choose topics they’re interested in to make a presentation file. T could give more time to Ss for discussing and improve their teamwork. a musical composition a musical play or film a musical instrument ... 选择感兴趣的话题,为制作展示文档作铺垫。 10’ GW
Step 8 Discussion: 1. Ss work in groups and discuss the questions below. (1) What will be the topic of your presentation (2) What information do you need ... Where can you find ... (3) What tasks will need to be done ... (4) Who in the group will do each of the tasks 2. T provide an example using mind map. A presentation about a musical artist include introduction, works, life stories, influence, ... T teaches Ss how to make a good presentation file. (1) Open PowerPoint, review templates and select a related theme. (2) Create a title slide including the title, subtitle and your group members. (3) Add other slides introducing your main points. (4) Keep your slides' contents brief and add pictures and videos to your slides. (5) Select appropriate size and font that are clear to the audience. (6) Contain no more than 10 slides. (7) Create an ending slide to thank the audience and save your PowerPoint. 发散学生思维,为学生在话题方面提供示范,降低任务难度。 6’ GW/CW
Step 9 Reference: Ss refer to the biography for main points to include. 参考名人传记和作品,为展示项目做准备。 5’ CW
Step 10 Presentation: 1. Ss work in groups and give presentations to the class. Each member should take turns to explain or show one part of the presentation. 2. T teaches the strategy of how to give a presentation. (1) Start strongly to grab your audience's attention. (2) Smile and make an eye-contact with your audience. (3) Use your voice and body effectively. (4) Show your passion and connect with your audience. (5) Keep it simple: concentrate on your core message. 为学生陈述报告,展示提供策略支持。 20’ GW
Step 11 Feedback: After listening to the presentations, Ss decide on the best ones and give tips for improving them. Criterion: (1) Is the presentation well-structured and organized (2) Does the presentation include valid facts, pictures and videos (3) Are font and size consistent in the presentation (4) Do reporters speak clearly and confidently (5) Do reporters create a connection with the audience 为学生提反馈提供标准,进一步提高表达能力。 10’ CW
Step 12 Homework: Make a poster for one of the topics you're mostly interested in. (a musical composition; a musical play or film) 提高学生的创造能力。 1’ CW
