Assessing Your Progress 教案
教材分析:
本课时的主题是“compare English learning websites/apps”比较英语学习网站/应用程序。该板块由三部分组成。第一部分是语言知识检测,主要考察对本单元重点词汇的辨认和区分,以及对现在完成时被动语态的掌握情况;第二部分是单元内容评价和反思,让学生自我评价对本单元重点学习内容的掌握情况;第三部分是以项目活动的形式,让学生比较不同的英语学习网站或app,提高学生分析问题的能力。
教学策略与设计说明:
采用任务型教学法(Task-based language teaching),布置活动任务,设置活动目的,引导学生完成相关任务,达成各教学步骤设计目的。
教学目标:
在本课学习结束时,学生能够:
语言能力上,掌握和区分重点词汇不同的语境意义,如“function, blog, comment, blog, chat”等;巩固现在完成时被动语态的形式和意义。
思维品质上,比较同一事物的不同方面,提高学生分析问题的能力,发散思维,辩证地思考问题。
文化意识上,了解不同的英语学习网站或应用程序,并学会选择恰当的英语学习软件,学会运用网络资源进行学习。
学习能力上,掌握高效的学习方法,如利用网络资源;及时复习回顾所学内容,形成深度记忆;学会自我反思与评价,提高元认知意识,根据自身情况不断调整学习策略,提高学习效率。
教学重点:
学生能够提高元认知意识,不断自我反思,根据自身情况调整学习策略;
学生能够从不同角度比较英语学习软件。
教学难点:
学生对英语学习网站或应用程序了解较少;
学生将比较的内容用 “博客”或其他展示形式呈现。
教学资源:
教材、多媒体课件、黑板与粉笔。

Step 2 Fill in the blank: Ss fill in the blanks with the correct form of the words in the book. T check the answers and conclude different meanings of verbs. Step 3 Complete the text: Ss complete the text with the correct form of the words in the bracket. Suggested answers: has been turned upside down have been considered has been changed completely has been taken over Have been influenced heavily 在语境中巩固现在完成时态被动语气的结构和意义。 4’ CW/IW
Step 4 Questions: T raises the question “Do you agree with the writer Give your reasons.” (T leads Ss to think about the question by presenting some clues: Shopping (online or physical stores ) / Communication (online or face - to - face ) / Entertainment (games, music, movies, ... ) / Crimes (increase or decline )) 在语境中复习和巩固关系代词的意义和功能。 10’ CW/IW
Step 5 Reflecting: Ss think about the following question. T asks Ss to think about their studying process individually. 学生评价本单元的学习,有助于学生形成课后自我反思的良好学习习惯; 提升学生的原认知意识。 5’ CW/IW
Step 6 Question: T asks a question “what English learning apps or websites do you know” Suggested answers: Duolingo Google Translate busuu Memrise ... ... 对英语学习网站有初步的认知。 4’ CW
Step 7 Pair work: 1. Ss work in pairs and choose one app or website that they like best, and compare it with your partner's. Use the questions below. 2. T leads Ss to think about the questions by paraphrasing the questions, such as functions Who - beginner Layout (T teaches Ss how to compare the websites/apps: Measuring User Experience of websites/apps) 小组合作,从不同方面比较app,发散学生的思维。 20’ GW
Step 8 Tasks Ss finish one of the following tasks. Prepare a short presentation to compare the websites or apps. (T teaches the strategy of making a presentation: Use graphs, charts and other visual tools, in place of bulleted lists whenever possible. T uses pictures to show how to use them for each question.) Write a blog post comparing the websites or apps. T lead Ss to review the structure of blog post and help them to organise their idea, then require them to complete the task individually. Step 9 Discussion: Ss discuss the following question: Do you prefer learning English through the website/app or the textbook (T provides the structure of expression and some clues: Internet; Availability; Convenience; Variety; Cost; ...) Suggested answers: (1) I prefer learning English through the website/app. Because it has great visual design and quality; because it offers lessons, videos, images, games, and interactions to help us learn English; ... (2) I prefer learning English through the textbook. Because I can still use it without the Internet; ... 发散学生思维,结合之前的学习任务,用批判的眼光思考不同的英语学习方式。 10’ GW
Step 9 Homework: Make a presentation on another natural disaster. 熟悉和巩固做展示的方法。 1’ CW
