教材分析：
本课时通过两篇短文——设定目标的重要性以及方法，进行句子结构与成分分析的学习。教学中将语法知识的传授和语言基本技能的学习结合到一起，注重语言的运用。采用任务型教学法和小组合作探究学习法，从而扩大课堂的语言输入量及学生的语言输出量。
教学策略与设计说明：
1. 采用任务型教学法(Task-based language teaching)，布置活动任务，设置活动目的，引导学生完成相关任务，达成各教学步骤设计目的。
教学目标：
在本课学习结束时，学生能够：
语言能力上，在真实的语篇中掌握不同的句子类型、划分句子成分。了解几大基本句式，如：SV、SVP、SVO、SVOO、SVOC、SVA、SVOA。
思维品质上，培养通读、分析、理解、综合的能力，教会学生体察语境，结合上下文，符和逻辑推理和合理的想象，结合语法和题干中的语境解决问题。
文化品格上，认识到设定目标的重要性，掌握如何逐步实现自己人生目标的方法与策略。
学习能力上，在运用语言过程中培养观察力、分析力、想象力和自学能力，提高思维能力和运用英语的综合能力。
教学重点：
学生通过阅读短文，分析简单句子的基本结构。
教学难点：
结合语法知识，以课堂教学为依托，全面训练学生的听、说、读、写能力，加强和提高运用英语的综合能力。
标记句子成分，判断句子结构。
教学资源：
教材、多媒体课件、黑板与粉笔。
教学过程：

Step 3 Explore the rules: Ss are asked to read the short speech, figure out the structures of underlined sentences and fill in the blanks. T could pick several Ss to share their answers. Then T could accordingly add some explanation. 创设语境，学生在短文中理解句子后进行分析，老师根据回答适当补充。 10’ CW/IW
Step 4 Apply the rules: Ss are asked to learn how to use the symbols to mark different elements of a sentence. Ss read some tips and judge the sentence structures. T could pick several Ss to answer the questions. Ss would also learn some tips on how to set goals. 引导学生听取语块, 总结预约常用句式，提升学生语言能力。 12’ CW/IW
Step 5 Discuss: Ss are asked to discuss the following questions in groups: 1.What is your goal for the new term 2. How are you going to achieve your goal 巩固所学语言与内容，应用所学内容，全方位训练语言技能。 6’ CW/GW
Step 6 Homework: Ss are asked to finish the following homework: 1. Write about your goal for new term and how to achieve it, by using different sentence structures. 2. Check your homework with your partner. 3. Make a short speech about it. 通过写作与口头表达输出巩固所学，并学会合作学习。 6’ IW
