(T explains key information: The most important information the author tells about the topic.) Suggested answers: Rebecca: It seems as if my grades are the most important thing in her life; she is never happy with my grades; Simon: I’m eager for my parents' love. They're always busy at work; Neither of them show any concern; I feel quite lonely at home. Laura: Everyone says that teenage years are a time for adventure, but my parents disagree; They’re always on my back about something; I tell them I wish to make my own choices about what to do with my friends, but they never listen. 引导学生识别语篇中的关键信息,为下文总结总要内容作铺垫。 6’ IW/CWStep 3 Strategy: T teaches the features of summarizing: Shorter than the text Use your own words (substitute the words, paraphrase, shorten the sentences ...) Main ideas only T explains how to summarize the text and what the summary is like. Read the text. Don’t let big word scares you. Ask “what was this text about ” Summary: Should be a complete sentence; Should cover main point or key ideas; Should use your own words; Shouldn’t just be a word or two. 为学生总结文章主旨内容提供策略支持。 5’ CW/IWStep 4 Describing: 1. Ss read the emails and describe each problem in one sentence. Rebecca: She wants her mother to pay less attention to her grades. Simon: He feels lonely because his parents do not spend much time with him. Laura: Her parents protect her too much. T teaches the strategy: We write a summary when we: Grasp the author's main point and purpose. Extract important information. Take notes when reading a long story. 提高学生分析归纳的能力和元认知意识。 6’ IW/CWStep 5 Key words: T teaches the key words by providing pictures, collocations and example sentences. press v. 催促, 逼迫 ~ sb to do sth/ ~ sb for sth/ ~ sb into doing sth e.g. They are pressing us to make a quick decision. n. 报刊杂志 (the Press);新闻工作者,新闻界 e.g. The Press was/were not allowed to attend the trial. eager 热切的 ~ for sth/ ~ to do sth e.g. She is eager for her parents' approval. n. eagerness 热切;渴望 e.g. I couldn't hide my eagerness to get back home. adventure n.冒险 a sense/spirit of adventure冒险意识/精神 e.g. When you're a child, life is one big adventure. adventure film 惊险片 her adventures traveling in Africa 她在非洲旅行时的冒险经历 4. When I do go out, they always ask, “Where are you going ” 助动词do在此处用于对谓语go out进行强调。除了do,可以对谓语进行强调的助动词还有does和did,后面的谓语动词要用原形。 利用图片和例句教单词,增加单词学习的效率和趣味性。 4’ CWStep 6 Strategy: T leads Ss to pay attention to the key words in bold, and listen to the details according to the key words. 听力策略:根据关键词听细节信息。 2’ GWStep 7 Circle the words: Ss listen to the reply and circle the words to complete the sentences. 听细节信息。 3’ IW/CWStep 8 Complete the notes: T teaches the listening strategy. Predicting before listening: Predicting helps you become an active listener (It doesn't matter if your prediction is right.). Before you listen, think about the ideas. Look at the title, vocabulary items and grammar. Try to guess what the author will say and what words you will fill in. T guides Ss to predict the part of speech based on the contexts, vocabulary items, and grammar. 3. Sometimes it's hard to express our feelings face to face, so we can write our thoughts down the paper. Authoritarian/authoritative/permissive/uninvolved Authoritative. Because such parents use rules and take their children's feelings into consideration and kids who have such parents are most likely to become confident and responsible./ Permissive.
