教材分析:
本课时简要介绍了定语从句,特别是关系副词的意义与使用。本文的重点在于学生通过学习,进一步加深对于健康生活方式的认识与理解,了解睡眠的重要性,熟悉有关世界睡眠日的基本信息,基于所学内容对睡眠健康相关话题进行思考与表达。

教学目标:
在本课学习结束时,学生能够:

Step 3 Explore the rules: T introduces some basic information about relative clauses and relative adverbs. Ss summarizes the key rules for the grammatical points. T could also combine the relative pronouns together to make a summary concerning the relative clauses and finish the chart of the rules. 引导学生学习定语从句,特别是关系副词相关语法知识,引导学生整理归纳所学知识,提升学生语言知识与学习能力。 8’ CW/IW
Step 4 Discussion: After analysis of grammar rules, T asks Ss to think about their personal experiences. Question: Watch a video. Do you have sleep problems If yes, what happened Leads Ss to provide more details like feelings, process, solution etc. 归纳总结任务A提到的失眠原因,引导学生联系个人经验,描述原因经过结果。 5’ GW
Step 5 Apply the rules: Ss are asked to join sentences with relative adverbs or “preposition + which”. Before joining the sentences, T could lead Ss to learn the basic steps for finishing the task. T and Ss check the answers together. 引导学生完成任务,并提示任务完成思路与方法,提升学生学习能力。 10’ CW/IW
Step 6 Apply the rules: Ss are asked to complete the passage with correct relative adverbs where necessary. Before that, T could lead Ss to learn the basic steps for finishing the task. T and Ss check the answer together. 强化所学内容,进行操练。 6’ CW/IW
Step 7 Discuss with partners: T asks Ss “What other ways can help us sleep better ” According to the pictures, T leads Ss to think more methods which are useful and effective in daily life. 复习已完成任务,联系学生自身经历,让学生辩证思考解决失眠的问题。 5’ GW
Step 8 Write a short paragraph: Ss are asked to read the information and write a short paragraph using restrictive relative clauses. Before writing, T could offer some help in terms of its structure, its content, etc. 巩固所学语言与内容,应用所学内容,全方位训练语言技能。 15’ CW/IW
Step 9 Homework: Design a plan for the next year’s World Sleep day according to what we learned. You may use the skills and contents learned in this class.
