Then, T display a slide from last lesson to review the structure of film review. 复习第一课时内容,并提高学生学习兴趣,引入主题“film review”。 4’ CWStep 2 Pair work: Ss work in pairs and discuss the questions. Use the following questions and expressions to help them. Strategy: T teaches the strategy: Use the Internet to search information Internet is a great tool for learning English. You can use search engine to find information you need, such as background knowledge, directors, settings.... Pay attention to remind Ss to choose official website to get accurate information. 提供合作学习的机会,降低任务难度,为接下来影评撰写在语言和框架上作好准备。 拓展学生学习渠道,提高学习能力。 6’ GWStep 3 Sample: T presents some posters of film and picks one in order to decide the title and type of the film. (e.g. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, fantasy) T introduces the director and leading actors of the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone T introduces the setting, story line, opinions, recommendations about the film by using the table. Setting: England in the 1990's Story line: Harry - the orphan who discovers that his parents were wizards - goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to develop his powers. Opinions: Setting (amazing, transfixing), Story (thrilling, moving), Acting (dramatic), Special effects (imaginative) Recommendations: It's highly recommended to people who love magic and adventure. (Ss work in pairs, talk about the questions in Part C, and try to use the information of the film and expressions above. ) 为学生思考影评框架内容提供示范。丰富学生语言表达,激活学生已知信息。 4’ CWStep 4 Planning: Learning about the text type A film review is a report that expresses an opinion about a film. ... Learning about the structure Start by giving basic information about the film. Learning about the language Use adjectives, either positive or negative, to make your description more vivid and interesting 为影评写作提供文体,框架和语言支持支持。 2’ CWStep 5 Strategy: 1. T teaches the strategy of Using adjectives to describe your opinion. The purpose of a film review is to give information to potential audiences so that they can decide whether or not they want to watch the film. One way to do this is to use adjectives, either positive or negative, e.g. amazing/terrible acting, exciting/boring story line, original/unoriginal ideas. T introduces the adjectives (positive, neutral, negative) to describe film and character/personality Positive: first-rate, enjoyable, ... Neutral: suspenseful, low-budget, dramatic, ... Negative: second-rate, brutal, predictable, weak, ... T reminds Ss to pay attention to the following: (1) Reviews are normally found in newspapers, magazines, or as part of the letter. (2) The style may be formal or semi-formal, depending on intended reader. (3) Reviews are usually written with present tenses. (4) A variety of adjectives are used to make the review more interesting to readers. (5) Formal film reviews should see a frequent use of passive voice. In a formal review, there should be no short forms of words. 提高学生运用词汇表达观点的能力,提高语用能力。 5’ CWStep 6 Language: T introduces expressions of each part of the film review. Introduction e.g. The film is .../It is directed by ...; The director is .../The lead characters/main actors are .../The film is set in.../This is a comedy/horror film; love story; science fiction movie ... Main body e.g. The plot focuses on.../The story begins/ concerns about / is about...; It is rather confusing / long / slow / boring; The cast is excellent / weak / awful / unconvincing; The script/ story is dull / clever / exciting Conclusion e.g. Don't miss it! It is highly entertaining. /It is well worth seeing! 影评写作前,提供语言上的支持,加深学生印象,降低写作的难度,巩固写作结构。 3’ CWStep 7 Drafting: Ss draft their own film review. 学生独立写作。 10’ IWStep 8 Checking: 1.Ss check their writings according to punctuation, choice of words, spelling, style, ...(language) 2.Ss have a self-review (Does your film review contain all the necessary parts ) ... and a peer review (What does your partner think of the information and the opinion you give ) (content) 同伴互评,促进合作学习;为学生提高评价指标,提高评价可行性和科学性。 5’ GWStep 9 Revising: Ss get their drafts back and revise them.
