For many of us, these wishes feel familiar (熟悉的). Around this January, we made the same resolutions. We started with strong willpower (意志力). But a few weeks later, we became lazy again. Are you looking forward to the next Olympic Games Paris 2024 promises to be a “green” event. Its organizers have found a new way of going green: In some of the venues (场馆) in Seine-Saint-Denis (塞纳-圣但尼省), about 11,000 seats are made from recycled plastic.
The seats were produced by recycling company Lemon Tri and a few partners. They collected plastic waste and turned it into small pieces. These pieces were then mixed together and heated. After that they were pressed in machines. The result was black or white plastic pieces with flecks (斑点) of color. These pieces were then polished, cut and made into seats.
Are these seats of good quality, you may ask Don’t worry! A number of tests have been carried out on them. There were a UV resistance (抗紫外线) test, a fire resistance test, and more. People will be able to sit safely in the chairs and enjoy the excitement of the game!
The seats were made from about 100 tons of plastic waste. About 80 percent of the plastic came from local recycling bins. Local schools also collected about five million colored soda bottle caps and they were used in the making of the seats.
The seats not only help the environment, but also educate people about recycling. Augustin Jaclin is the co-founder of Lemon Tri. “Our kids put their bottles in the bins,” he said. “They’ll sit on the seats made from these bottles. This will teach them to recycle more in their daily lives!”

Some things seem perfect together: Milk and bread. Summer and watermelon. And... dogs and petting (抚摸), right Maybe it’s not all right. We learnt something new when we recently chatted with Dr. Emily Levine, a scientist who studies animals and the owner of Animal Behavior hospital of New Jersey.
“Many dogs really don’t find being petted, hugged or kissed very nice — they just don’t enjoy it very much,” she told us. “There are some dogs that love jumping and running when they haven’t seen you in a while, because they’re so excited to see you. Some dogs may hide how they really feel about it. But when you really watch a dog’s body language when they’re hanging out and doing their own thing, most of them are just standing being petted, some of them get so angry that they start to shout and say ‘Hey, please, back off! I’m really not enjoying this.’”
Of course lots of furry animals do seem to enjoy being hugged, but if we hug a dog who doesn’t seem very like it, what should we do “That clearly makes them worried or they’re showing their angry,” Dr. Levine said. “We should pay attention to the early signs.”
Dr. Levine noted that hugging can make dogs feel difficult to breathe, so she suggested, “You can pet the cheek (脸颊) and the chin (下巴), try not to go along down the back, but you can keep it for a short while,” she said. “It’s a relationship we have with our dogs.” Dr. Levine advised that our best choice to find out its need is to look at their body language.

Are you looking forward to the next Olympic Games Paris 2024 promises to be a “green” event. Its organizers have found a new way of going green: In some of the venues (场馆) in Seine-Saint-Denis (塞纳-圣但尼省), about 11,000 seats are made from recycled plastic.
The seats were produced by recycling company Lemon Tri and a few partners. They collected plastic waste and turned it into small pieces. These pieces were then mixed together and heated. After that they were pressed in machines. The result was black or white plastic pieces with flecks (斑点) of color. These pieces were then polished, cut and made into seats.
Are these seats of good quality, you may ask Don’t worry! A number of tests have been carried out on them. There were a UV resistance (抗紫外线) test, a fire resistance test, and more. People will be able to sit safely in the chairs and enjoy the excitement of the game!
The seats were made from about 100 tons of plastic waste. About 80 percent of the plastic came from local recycling bins. Local schools also collected about five million colored soda bottle caps and they were used in the making of the seats.
The seats not only help the environment, but also educate people about recycling. Augustin Jaclin is the co-founder of Lemon Tri. “Our kids put their bottles in the bins,” he said. “They’ll sit on the seats made from these bottles. This will teach them to recycle more in their daily lives!”
