　　During the last few years of his life, my dad lived just up the road from me in a small house. He had been alone for over 20 years after my mom died. He was disabled and retired, so he spent a lot of time alone.

Su Yiming believes the two Olympic medals he got at the Beijing Winter Olympics are the best gifts on his 18th birthday on Friday.

Su Yiming believes the two Olympic medals he got at the Beijing Winter Olympics are the best gifts on his 18th birthday on Friday.
“The gold medal is for sure the best gift for my birthday. The gold and silver medals mean a lot to me. People can see how hard I’ve been working to achieve them, ” Su said in an interview in Beijing on Thursday.
