资源简介 Unit 2 Natural disastersExtended reading 教案教材分析:本课时通过阅读《庞贝末日》的摘要,要求学生完成包括阅读、讨论、摘要写作等学习任务,其中包含了对于火山喷发以及灾后情况的描述。重点内容主要涉及自然灾害、灾时避难等话题。本文的价值取向在于学生通过学习,感知自然灾害对于人类的影响,保持正确价值观看待自然灾害,提升灾害过程中的应对技巧。教学策略与设计说明:采用任务型教学法(Task-based language teaching),布置活动任务,设置活动目的,引导学生完成相关任务,达成各教学步骤设计目的。采用情境教学法(Situational teaching method),通过多媒体资源导入主题,通过观看视频,引导学生同步加深阅读活动与思考任务,落实学生价值观的培养。教学目标:在本课学习结束时,学生能够:语言能力上,习得涉及火山喷发自然灾害介绍、解决方法等话题的重点词组,提高摘要写作能力及分析语篇能力。思维品质上,提升对比分析与批判性思考的能力;有逻辑的梳理阅读语篇的主要结构,整理阅读材料全文及各部分的主要大意。文化品格上,从不同的角度,体会火山爆发的影响力,正确看待自然灾害对人类活动的影响,提高防灾意识。学习能力上,从小说摘要中,了解对于自然灾害描述的方法,积累语篇特征。教学重点:学生读懂阅读文本大意,掌握不同观点。教学难点:引导学生从语篇中感知对火山喷发及对庞贝的破坏性,提高学生防灾意识。教学资源:教材、多媒体课件、黑板与粉笔。教学过程:步骤 教学活动 设计意图 时间与模式Step 1 Lead-in: T asks a question: Can you imagine a natural disaster can destroyed a city completely. After answering the question, T shows students a short video about volcanic eruption, and ask them the following questions. What is it (Volcano: lava, ash, high temperature…) How do you feel when you see such natural disaster Then, T asks Ss the distribution of volcanoes in the world and shows a map for linking geography knowledge. 通过视觉感受火山喷发的影响力,激发学生的学习兴趣,激活学生已有的相关知识和经验。 5’ CW/GWStep 2 Warm up for reading: T shows some Pompeii’s old pictures, and asks Ss to guess where it is. Then, T displays three pictures comparing different periods of Pompeii and lead Ss guess what happened there. 通过图片对比,感知庞贝城经历的自然灾害,激活已知。 3’ CWStep 3 Reading: Have students read the introduction on Page 25 and get to know about the writer and the background of the excerpt. T asks: What is the novel The Last Days of Pompeii about Have students read the whole excerpt silently and ask them to tell what the main idea for each paragraph. T shows suggested answers. Then T divided the excerpt in to three parts according to the development of volcanic eruption. Alternatively, T can play short videos after each part’s analysis. Use the ideas in Part A on Page 26. 通过概要写作进行语言的输出,进一步深化对细节的理解与主旨的把握。 15’ CW/IWStep 5 Thinking: T leads Ss to answer questions. Q1: Ss should compare the first para and last para for making sense about the comparison. T can play two pictures to give tips. Q2: by playing two pictures of human’s dead body and natural landscape, Ss needs to reconsider the deeper meaning of the novel. 思考文章深层含义,结合已知和新知,强调防灾意识,提高学生思维品质。 5’ CW/GWStep 6 Discussion: Have students discuss the question in Part B on Page 26. Find out the possible answer and give the evidence. T can list the contents from the article and read aloud by different tones to make Ss understand how people felt on that day. 加深主题词汇及相关表达,链接文本和情感,立体感受文字的冲击力。 5’ GWStep 7 Discussion: Have students discuss the questions in Part C on Page 26 and share their opinions in class. Firstly, T gives some tips (technologies and what people can do) to protect themselves during natural disasters.
