Activity 1 1. T plays a video about football and guides students to make notes of related terms. 2. T asks students to guess what the signals represent in a football game. 3.T introduces the background information about football. 1. Ss watch the video and make some notes 2. Ss answer the questions. Help students familiar with the topic and learn some background information about football.
Activity 2 1. T asks the Ss to read the passage quickly and choose the author’s purpose in writing the passage. 2. T asks Ss to read the passage again and find out the topic sentences for each paragraph. 3.T asks Ss toTry to divide the passage into parts to match the main ideas. Ss master the main ideas and structure of the passage by doing activities. Help Ss to make clear the main ideas and structures of the passage.
Activity 3 1.T asks students to read the passage carefully and answer these questions ① Where did modern football start ② How did British and German soldiers react when World War I met with a football game 2.T asks Ss to read the passage again and complete the chart with expressions from the passage. Ss read the passage carefully and share their answers. Get more detailed information
