核心素养教学目标 一、语言知识目标 (1)学习并掌握新词汇： several , strong , feeling , satisfaction , joy , owner , try out , journey . 学会使用以下句型： ..give up several hours each week to help others . He volunteers at an animal hospital every Saturday morning . I get such a strong feeling of satisfaction when I see the animals get better and the look joy on their owner’s faces . Last year , she decided to try out for a volunteer after-school reading program . The kids are sitting in the library , but you can see in their eyes that they’re going on a different journey with each new book . 二、思维品质目标 通过阅读训练，培养学生良好的阅读理解能力，同时使学生在理解故事情节的基础上对文章进一步的解读，以实现对学生进行情感教育的目的。 三、学习能力目标 展开阅读活动的开展， 有积极主动的学习态度和较强的自信心，能主动参与课内外各种英语实践活动。 四、文化品格目标 使学生在谈论如何为别人提供帮助的对话中意识到尽己所能，帮助他人，乐于奉献是一种良好的品质，培养学生为他人着想，热爱公益事业，乐于助人的优良品质。
重点 掌握本部分出现的生词和词组，达到熟练运用的目的。 阅读短文，获得相关的信息，通过阅读练习，来提高阅读能力。
难点 动词不定式在英语句子中的成分和作用。

Step1 Lead in: 活动热身，认识志愿工作

教学设计说明：以北京冬奥会、新冠疫情志愿者导入，询问学生青年志愿者的标志以及其代表含义。
Step2 Presentation：设置微信聊天场景，讲解新单词
Step3 Pre-reading ：读前热身，猜测大意
1.Review:What other things can volunteers do
2.Predict according to the title and pictures.
Ask Ss to look at these two pictures and the title. The teacher can ask questions to help the Ss predict what they are going to read.

Task 1: Read para.1 and answer:

Task 2: Read para 2& 3 and finish Mario's and Mary's Volunteer ID card.

Step 5 Post reading
Watch a video about infinitives （微课视频突破难点）
Find as many infinitives as possible （找出不定式）
完成练习3c并教授动词不定式一手抓口诀
Read again and summary the article according to the “WH”questions.
An interview(采访)
The school reporter is having an interview about Mario’s and Mary’s voluntary work. Imagine you are Mario or Mary,tell people about your experience.
Step 6 Deep thinking
1.Watch a video about the spirit of volunteering
Ask students to think about the spirit of volunteering ,and then write them down. Then they share what they’ve written and all of them come to the blackboard and put the card shaped like a heart on the blackboard while listening to the song -Heal the world .
Try to be a volunteer
设计意图：总结升华，提炼志愿服务精神和志愿活动的意义，将德育渗透到教学中，引导学生从小事做起，用自己的努力去带动周围的人，尽点滴之力为社会做贡献，让社会因为自己的存在而变得更加和谐与温暖。
Step5 Summary and homework
1.What do you learn 盘点收获，能力提升
Strategy (1): The title and pictures can be helpful to understand the text. Title may be the main meaning of the article.
Strategy (2): The first and last sentences can be helpful to understand the main idea of each paragraph.
Strategy (3): To learn the text, we may summarize by answering “what, who, where, when, why” questions as you read.
Strategy (4): offer help and volunteer ---share your love to warm others.
Homework：
