Every festival has its different customs and unique charms 独特的魅力. However, no matter how different they may seems 看起来，似乎, all over the world, the spirit of ...的精神 sharing joy, gratitude 感恩, love, or peace is common 普遍的 ，常见的 in all festivals.

Of 在...中 all the traditional festivals, the harvest festival can be found 见于，能够被发现 in almost every culture. This important agricultural festival 农业节日 takes place 来临，发生 after all the crops have been gathered in 收成. People celebrate to show that they are grateful for 因...感恩 the year’s supply 收成，提供 of food. In ancient Egypt, the harvest festival was celebrated during the springtime--- the Egyptian harvest season. It featured 以...为特色 a parade 游行 and a great feast 盛宴 with music, dancing, and sports.

With the development of 随着...的发展 modern society and the spread of ...的传播 new ideas, some traditions may fade away 渐渐消失 and others may be established 被建立. One example is the typical 典型的Chinese Spring Festival custom of lighting firecrackers 燃放鞭炮 to 来，表目的 drive away 驱赶 the evil spirits 鬼神 and celebrate the new year.
