1.通过词汇相关练习,巩固词汇的同时检查学生对本单元词汇掌握情况。 2.通过语法复习和运用,巩固语法的同时检查学生对本单元名词短语、动词短语、形容词短语、副词短语和介词短语在写作中运用能力掌握情况。 3.通过口头表达和思维导图形式总结和反思单元学习内容,做自主评价及同学互评,认识不足同时获得成就感,提高自信心。 4.通过对单元主题相关内容掌握情况总结、反思和评价,增强文化自信,树立人类命运共同体意识。
教学内容
教学重点: 1.词汇运用巩固和检查。 2.语法运用巩固和检查。 3.本单元有关“志愿服务”主题相关内容总结、反思和评价。 教学难点: 1.如何通过检查学生语法运用的掌握情况,进一步巩固和提升学生细节描写,充实语篇。 2.如何让学生通过自主评价和同学互评,认识到自身不足的同时获得成就感,提高学科自信心。

Lead in Ask students the following questions: 1. What kind of volunteer work have you learnt in this unit 2. What kind of volunteer work do you think is suitable for teenagers to participate in To activate the vocabulary learnt in this unit attached to the theme. Students are able to answer the questions with specific vocabulary such as “share, disability” and so on. 1min
Vocabulary Vocabulary Activiy1: Brainstorming Ask students to write the part of speech and different forms of the following vocabulary: contract, disability, tune, input, share, mechanic, stability, criterion and consultation. To consolidate and check what students have learnt in this unit when it comes to vocabulary. Students are able to write the part of speech and different forms of the vocabulary quickly and correctly. 1min
Activity2: Blank filling Ask students to complete a news report using the correct forms of the words in the box. Ask the students to check the answers and share the scores. To consolidate and check the application of the different forms of specific words. Students are able to choose the correct words and use the different forms. 4mins
Activity 3: Headline-making Ask students to make a news headline for the reports based on the content, purpose and the characteristic of this genre. To lead the students to make a news headline. Students are able to make a good headline of this news report. 2mins
Activity 4: Exploration Ask students the following questions:1.Why does Liu Fei determine to volunteer to work in Africa and want to engage in AIDS prevention 2. What kinds of difficulties would volunteers meet in Africa 3. How would they overcome those difficulties To further explore the thematic meaning. Students are able to further think and express their opinions attached to the theme of this unit. 3mins
Grammar Activity1: Group work Ask students to review the different phrases (NP, VP, AdvP, AdjP and PrepP) and their function in the “Review useful structure”, then work in groups to list the phrases of different types used in the text of this unit. To review the content and language used in this unit. Students are able to cooperate with groupmates and find out the specific phrases quickly. 4mins
Activity 2: Expanding writing Ask student to expand the following sentences by adding different phrases and try to make them more vivid. Eg. The chemist is doing an experiment. 1.A rat is chasing a cat. 2.A train is crossing a bridge. 3.Susan placed the cup on the saucer and swallowed the capsule. 4. I drag myself off the bed. 5. A tree shades the farmer. 6. The president is relaying his ambition to the audience. Ask the students to share and make comment after writing. To check the students’ ability of the application of the 5 types of phrases learnt in this unit. Students are able to expand the simple sentences by using different phrases, making the sentences more vivid. 10mins
Reflecting Activity1: Mind map Ask students to summarize and reflect the content learnt in this unit with a mind map based on the questions on P46. Get students to think about the content of the unit and make a summary and reflection. Students are able to draw a mind map including the important content. 10mins
Activity2: Presentation Ask students to share their mind map in groups, then recommend the best one to share in class. To help students enhance the sense of achievement and build confidence. Students are able to share confidently. 2mins
