Do your eyes jump a few times a second over a period of time A jumping eye can happen to anybody at any time. There are several reasons for a jumping eye. Let’s have a look at it!
TirednessNot getting enough sleep or working for too long without rest may cause our eye to complain. Scientists aren’t sure why, but they’ve found that getting more rest will make our eyes feel better. Remember not to stay up late.
Dry eyesMore and more people work office jobs that require a lot of sitting and staring at a computer screen. This unhealthy way of life can lead to dry eye syndrome (DES干眼症). When our eyes are too dry, they can’t help jumping to keep them wet. To stay away from DES, use eye drops if you use the computer for more than seven hours a day and make sure to look away from the screen once every 20 minutes.
Stress (压力)This is the number-one reason for a jumping eye. It does harm to our eyes if it lasts for too long. When we’ re under a lot of stress, the body gives out stress hormones (荷尔蒙) which leads to a “fight or flight” response (回应). Thang-ga (唐卡) is a special kind of painting and picture. It was found only in Tibet. It started from the Tang Dynasty. Thang-ga paintings have interested many people in recent years. At the same time, the Chinese government has also tried hard to protect the culture.
Thang-ga was developed in the 7th century in the Tibetan area. Thang-ga shows Tibetan people’s lives. The paintings are colorful. The paints used in Thang-ga are different from those in other paintings. Because of the special environment of the Tibetan Plateau (青藏高原) and the excellent painting skills, the colors of Thang-ga look special. Through hand-making, the beautiful colors could last for hundreds of years.
However, with the development of machines, people now use cheaper and more easily-made chemicals to make Thang-ga paints. The traditional paints used in Thang-ga needed too much work and there were many secret methods. Once people stopped making the paints and forgot about them. So the skills were lost. The traditional Thang-ga paintings are difficult to find now.
Although Thang-ga isn’t popular among all Chinese people, it is still a traditional skill for our country and even a kind of Chinese culture. But now, only a few people can do this job. It’s a pity. Cannon studied the photos of each band of colors. Barly photos were black and white. She could not see the colors. She could only see different dark lines. “Come on, sir,” she said. “Let’s go.”

The following are some people’s opinions on using cell phones.
I believe that cell phones are not to be used while driving. One site said that talking on a cell phone while driving had the same results of drunk driving accidents! Also I think it is very impolite to use your phone in a public place! Once I was in a doctor’s office, and people were very quiet. A woman’s cell phone started ringing. After what seemed a million rings, she started to talk on her little “toy”, annoying every one.
----- Chelsea from the US
The cell phone would be a great thing if we used it in the right way. Unfortunately most of us don’t use it in the right way because we talk with our friends for hours and hours, and that’s something we can do better if we have a coffee together. The use of the cell phone in this way is dangerous for the development of good communication. We need to think twice about how we are using cell phones.
----- Graciela Flores form Mexico
Once when I was studying in the library, I was reading my book. Suddenly, a cell phone rang. I was so annoyed because those students didn’t have good manners in public. I looked at them in anger, but they didn’t pay attention. Nowadays, many young students use cell phones everywhere in my country just for talking to their friends. It keeps students from studying.
-----Seung-HyeLee from Korea
I think cell phones should be banned(禁止)in cars and airplanes. It is very clear that people’s attention is diverted(分散)if they talk on cell phones while they are driving. The number of car accidents caused by drivers using cell phones has risen, so people should not use them when they are driving. Also, it is dangerous to use them in airplanes because the phone signals can interrupt the airplane’s signal system.
----- Yian Ma from China

A.It is dangerous for the development of good communication.
B.They are kept away from their studies.
C.They can’t read books in the library.
D.They can’t talk to their friends as they like.
