Group work: brainstorm and complete the table about what kinds of help people need and how volunteers could help.教学难点: 1. Recognize examples in listening materials. 2.Use expressions of making suggestions and giving responses to make a conversation.教学过程Activity 1 Sharing Listen T’s sharing of voluntary experience and share own or friends’ experience of doing volunteer work. [设计意图]通过教师的分享,引出话题,并在此过程中突出谈论志愿者经历的6个方面,引导学生分享自己的或者身边人的志愿者经历。同时,为后续讨论做好准备。 Activity 2 Listening and checking Listen to the conversation and check whether these aspects are mentioned: place, need, activity, quality, skill. [设计意图]通过第一次听对话,了解对话大致内容,为后续听力做准备。 Activity 3 Listening for details Acquire listening tips for recognizing examples Listen to the conversation and complete the table. [设计意图]抓取对话细节信息,了解对话中三个学生提到的志愿者活动内容和地点,为后续讨论做准备。 Activity 4 Listening for expressions Listen and complete the conversation. Write down expressions of making suggestions and giving responses. [设计意图]设空内容分别是提出建议和给出回应的语言表达,学生听完之后积累了相关语言,为后续编对话做准备。 Activity 5 Thinking Think about the question: In your opinion, which is better, giving people things, time, or money Why do you think so [设计意图]学生思考给予帮助的形式,探讨自己能够付出什么,提高学生帮助他人的意识。 Activity 6 Discussing and brainstorming Work in groups of 4 and discuss: What kinds of help do you think people need How do you think volunteers could help What kinds of skills and qualities could you offer as a volunteer [设计意图]学生分组讨论人们需要什么、可以给与什么样的帮助以及自身的技能和品质,为后续的对话做准备。 Activity 7 Making a conversation In groups, discuss where and how you can help. And then make a conversation. Where would it be possible for you and your group members to volunteer What kind of volunteer work could you do, based on your group’s skills and qualities.
