教学目标
1. Language knowledge: memorize the meaning of key words and phrases such as individuality, longevity, sense of peace, wisdom, etc. 2. Learning ability: master the main idea of the video and note down the key information through viewing and listening. 3. Thinking quality: think, compare different information and predict what would be mentioned based on one’s former knowledge around the topic; imagine based on the topic of the lesson. 4. Cultural awareness: consider one’s own dream to go overseas; build up an awareness of sharing our culture with foreigners.
教学内容
教学重点： Instruct students to catch the certain information through viewing and listening. 2. Let students obtain not only the important information of the video but also the skill of writing down the key information correctly. 教学难点： 1. Guide students to locate the key information through viewing. 2. Lead students to predict the possible content of the video through the cover of it. 3. Motivate students to think further beyond the video. Especially important is that the teacher needs to arouse students’ patriotism and their awareness of sharing Chinese culture with the foreigners.
教学过程
Before watching: What do you think foreign students in the video enjoy most about China
[design purpose] Lead students to predict the possible content of the video through the cover of it, which will surely lay a foundation for further viewing. With what they want to learn in mind, students will be more likely to view the video attentively. While watching: While viewing, please stay attentive and try to find answers to the following questions. Fill in the table with information about each person. * Possible answer: 2) Complete these quotes with the words you hear in the video. * Possible answer: [design purpose] This activity helps to let students obtain not only the important information of the video but also the skill of writing down the key information correctly. After watching: Think about the following questions. 1) Imagine that your family is hosting an international students. What would you want to share with him/her about China * Possible answer: To begin with, I’d like to take them to the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, which are the well-known cultural and historical places. Then I would recommend that they try some Chinese cuisine, such as Beijing Roast Duck, dumplings and Dongpo’s braised pock. What’s more, I would take them to a traditional tea house to experience the local culture. What other information do you know about studying abroad 2) If you had a chance to go overseas as an international student, which country would you go to Why * Possible answer: I would like to go to England, as I not only want to learn its fascinating history, art, and culture but also eager to perceive the fashion and leisure life style of people in Paris. Especially important is that the teacher needs to arouse students’ patriotism and their awareness of sharing Chinese culture with the foreigners.
