look: 是常用词,指“注意或有意识地看”。强调动作,常用短语 
look at,have a look at;
see:强调看的结果;

stare:指吃惊、害怕或深思地盯着看、凝视、注视;
glare:怒目而视,强调怀有敌意或在气愤的情绪下看;
glance:(粗略地、随便地)一瞥,看一眼。
gaze: 指出于羡慕、感兴趣、关心或惊异而长时间目不转睛

(1)adj. 空白的 go blank(脑子里)突然一片空白

辨析:but、besides、except for、 aside from 、apart from
but:“除了……” (-),表示从整体中除去, 不包括在内。常用于all、no、 nothing、nobody、nowhere之后
besides:“除……之外(还有) (+)”,包括在整体内
except=but:“除……之外(-)”, 表示从整体中除去, 不包括在内
except for:“美中不足,除了…以外(整体很好)”,表示一种惋惜
aside from=apart from:“除……以外(还有) (+); 除去(-)”, 既可指包含在内,也可指排除在外
