第一讲　人物介绍
第三章　记叙文写作
人物介绍属于记叙文的写作范畴。人物介绍的内容通常包括人物生平、性格特点、业余爱好及其取得的成绩等。写作时要围绕人物组织材料，要做到主题鲜明，内容清楚，并注意结构的完整性。具体写作结构为：
1．出生及教育背景
①...was/were born into a poor/rich family.
……出生在一个贫穷的/富裕的家庭。
②He does very well in science, and is good at arts as well./Not only does he do well in science, but he is also good at arts.
他理科学得很好，文科也很擅长。
③When at college, he majored in history.
读大学时他主修历史。
④Showing great interest in music, he began learning to play the piano at the age of 3.
他对音乐很感兴趣，3岁时就开始学习弹钢琴。
⑤He is keen on sports, such as running, football, basketball and table tennis.
他酷爱运动，例如跑步、足球、篮球和乒乓球。
2．主要事迹

Confucius, also known as Kong Qiu, was a Chinese philosopher and politician who lived during the Spring and Autumn period. He emphasized the importance of respect for elders, loyalty to family, and the pursuit of knowledge. His teachings were compiled into a book called the Analects, which has been studied and revered for centuries.
Confucius' influence can still be seen in modern Chinese society, where his teachings continue to be studied and applied in daily life. I sincerely hope that through more understanding of Confucius and his Confucianism, we can make the world filled with more love, justice and peace.

There are many respectable people around us. Take my neighbour Uncle Li for example. He is a volunteer who works as a gate guard in our community during the epidemic.
Regardless of the risk of getting infected, Uncle Li is responsible and devoted to his job. Even in terrible weather, he still sticks to his post and leaves no one unchecked. Thanks to his efforts in epidemic prevention and control, our neighbourhood has been in a good state. It is his friendliness and the sense of responsibility that make me admire him.
Actually, there are many selfless people like Uncle Li around us, and they well deserve our respect.
