Part B Let’s learn & Look and write
本单元学习的主题是节日及个人的生日。本节课是本单元的第五课时，是一节词汇课。教材通过吴斌斌和 Robin 谈论家人生日的情景，呈现了五个序数词 twelfth（12th）、twentieth（20th）、twenty-first（21st）、twenty-third（23rd）、thirtieth（30th）的词形和意义。学生能够运用句型“When is …’s birthday ”“It’s on …”询问和回答生日的日期，培养孝敬长辈、关心家人的好品质，达到润物无声的教育目标。
1．能够听、说、读、写单词twelfth（12th）、twentieth（20th）、twenty-first（21st）、twenty-third（23rd）、thirtieth（30th）；
2．能够通过听音和跟读活动，纠正发音，进一步了解单词的发音规则；
3．能够通过小组合作、汇报展示，积极参与课堂活动，掌握本课主要语言的基本框架，并乐于思考与交流；
4．能够运用句型“When is Grandpa’s birthday ”“It’s on October 12th.”询问和回答生日的日期；
5．能够孝敬长辈、关心家人。

Step 1 Lead-in
1．Let’s chant
师生共同吟唱歌谣，复习第三单元所学内容的同时，为本节学习作铺垫。
2．Read and match
学生将基数词与序数词相匹配，复习 A 部分所学内容，激活学生头脑中已有的知识。
3．Look and say
学生通过看图说句子的活动，复习对具体日期的表达方式。
Ss: John’s birthday is on November 4th. Sarah’s birthday is …
Step 2 Presentation
T: Wu Binbin is making a birthday card for his grandpa. So when is his grandpa’s birthday What about other family members Let’s help Wu Binbin make a birthday chart for his family.
教师创设吴斌斌需要我们帮助他制作一个家庭生日表的情景，学生明确本节课所学内容是关于生日的表达。
1．引导学生学习 twelfth
（1）Let’s learn
T: When is Grandpa’s birthday
Ss: It’s on October 12th.
教师板书 twelfth，学生进行认读。教师纠正学生发音，指导拼写。
（2）Read and find
教师讲解基数词和序数词的区分，教师引导学生发现并总结以 -ve 结尾的基数词变序数词的规律。
（3）Let’s read
课件呈现基数词13至19变序数词的情况，教师引导学生发现并总结大部分基数词变序数词都是词尾直接加 th。教师带领学生读单词。
2．引导学生学习 twentieth 和 thirtieth
（1）Let’s learn
T: When is Grandma’s birthday
Ss: It’s on April 20th.
教师板书 twentieth，学生进行认读。教师纠正学生发音，指导拼写。
T: When is Dad’s birthday
Ss: It’s on November 30th.
教师板书 thirtieth，学生进行认读。教师纠正学生发音，指导拼写。
（2）Read and find
教师引导学生发现并总结以 -y 结尾的基数词变序数词的规律，即变 y 为 ie，再加 th。
（3）Let’s read
教师带领学生尝试将以 -y 结尾的基数词变成序数词并认读。
3．学习 twenty-third 和 twenty-first
（1）Let’s learn
T: When is Mum’s birthday
Ss: It’s on February 23rd.
教师板书 twenty-third，学生进行认读。教师纠正学生发音，指导拼写。
T: When is your birthday
Ss: It’s on August 21st.
教师板书 twenty-first，学生进行认读。教师纠正学生发音，指导拼写。
（2）Let’s read
教师带领学生读一读21至29的基数词和序数词，总结它们的关系和书写规律。通过按顺序整理序数词，培养学生自主发现规律的习惯，教师进行适当地总结，便于学生根据规律记忆单词。
Step 3 Practice
1．Listen and repeat
学生跟读录音，教师指导发音。
2．Pair work
T: Now we know Wu Binbin’s family. Can you help him make a birthday chart
Ss: Yes!
同桌之间一问一答，完成生日表格的制作。
S1: When is Grandpa’s birthday
S2: It’s on October 12th.
通过本项活动，学生可以在对话中复习本节课所学单词，做到词不离句。
3．Look and write
学生写一写日历中序数词的简写形式。
通过日历提示，学生可以明确在书写日期时所用的缩写形式，进一步巩固了对序数词缩写形式的掌握。
4．Good to know
教师总结序数词简写规律。
教师先让学生自主寻找序数词简写规律，发现哪些数字缩写形式有所不同。然后再进行总结，锻炼学生的思维能力。
Step 4 Consolidation
1．Ask and answer
T: What about your birthday Ask and answer, Let’s go!
教师指导学生同桌之间进行对话，询问彼此的生日。
S1: When is your birthday
S2: My birthday is on April 20th. When is your birthday
S1: My birthday is on March 5th.
2．Do a survey
学生进行小组调查“When is your birthday ”“What do you usually do on your birthday ”。
3．Make a report
调查完成后填表，每组推选一名代表进行小组汇报。
