一、教材分析
本课是新标准英语三起十二册第七模块的第一单元，主要描述杨利伟乘神州五号到太空的大事件。学生在四年级已经学习使用一般过去时描述过去发生的事情,本课将在原有基础上再次巩固使用一般过去时的用法。
二、学情分析
本节课是面向六年级学生，他们对英语学习有较浓的兴趣，并且有一定的英语学习基础和良好的学习习惯。而本节课的话题又是学生感兴趣的，因此本课主要是在学生已有的知识基础上，提高他们的综合语言运用能力。
三、教学目标
（一）语言知识目标
1. 掌握四会单词“spend, excited, proud, video”
2. 掌握目标语句：He spent about 21 hours in space.
In October 2003, Shenzhou V flew into space.
He wanted to go into space.
Then his dream came true
3. 掌握一般过去时的用法
（二）语言技能目标
1. 能运用目标语句描述大事件。
2. 能运用一般过去时谈论过去发生的事情。

1. 通过本课的学习，培养学生热爱祖国的情感。
2. 让学生体会到通过自己的努力，终将实现自己的梦想，为国争光。
3. 培养学生的团队精神、协作能力。
四、教学重、难点
1. 掌握四会词、句和短语
2. 掌握动词的过去式，并能正确运用一般过去时谈论过去发生的事情。
