found similar inspiring moments as a teacher here in China.
The earliest trip I remember from childhood was to the Ferry Meadows woods in
my home city of Peter borough,England.We went looking for deer prints,berries and
mushrooms with what we had learned.I loved finding mushrooms most.We also had
trips that were just fun,cultural experiences.Our school took us to the theater and
even Disneyland in Paris!
When I worked as an English teacher in China,it was great to see Lcould take
my students on similar educational trips and cultural experiences.My first China trip
with my students was to explore caves looking for bats.I taught a lesson about
cave-based vocabulary there.Another was to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing when it
was snowing.We had an English lesson in the Temple of Heaven out in the snow!But
the best one was a week-long drama trip all about Harry Potter.We played drama
games and the students performed scenes from the movie.We had costumes,wigs
(假发)，wands(魔杖)and magic tricks..They learned a lot of expressions about the
magical world.On the last day of the trip,once the children performed their shows
we went to Universal Studios!
Like the trips from my youth in England,the China trips will always stay with
me.These are magical ways of learning that I hope will also stay with the students.
