What is a letter of thanks
题型解读：
感谢信是感谢对方的某种付出、关怀、照顾、帮助、支援或勉励等的专用书信。感谢信的格式与其他专用书信相同。由称呼、正文、结尾、署名构成。
时态问题：
在提到对方曾经给予帮助时，用一般过去时；
在提到对方的帮助所产生的实际效果时，可用现在完成时；
涉及到现状，可用一般现在时；
表达祝愿或希望时，可用一般将来时。
Structure:
Part 1:告知写信意图：表达感谢；
Part 2:细述并赞赏对方给予的帮助及影响；
Part 3:再次阐述谢意有时也可表达回报愿望。
假定你是某国际学校的学生李华，上参加了英语作文竞赛，请你用英语给你的作文指导老师William写一封感谢信，主要内容包括：
1.告知获奖；2.介绍比赛情况；3.表达获奖感受。
注意：1.写作词数应为80个左右；

To begin with,everyone was required to write an article about their hometown. Then,we needed to write local cultures and beautiful scenery. Last but not least,we were asked to express our feeling about our hometown. I recalled all my nicememories and wrote smoothly.
Before the competition, I was so anxious that my palms were sweating. Thecompetition required us to write an article according to the assigned topic.As Iwas still nervous,your encouraging words echoed in my mind.At that moment,allthe anxiety and fear seemed to disappear and I tried my best to write it.Fortunately,I made it.

Thank you very much for your application for positions in the volunteering programme of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.We appreciate your longstanding support for the preparation of the Games.As you are aware,the outbreak of the coronavirus disease in early 2020 has since had a tremendous impact on the Games preparation,posing a significant challenge.
Given the uncertain Covid-19 situation since the closure of the application for the volunteering programme on 30June 2021 and in accordance with the requirements of a"streamlined,safe and splendid"Games,we have adjusted the number and positions of volunteers,taking into account the Covid-19 counter measures applicable to eachGames venue and operation.
Following a preliminary screening of all applications based on a comprehensive assessment of the applicants'knowledge,skills,volunteering experience,and interested positions,we came up with a shortlist and conducted several rounds of interviews and online tests of the shortlisted candidates.We have now finalised the list of candidates to be recruited as Beijing 2022 volunteers.
It is with regret that we inform you that you have not been shortlisted or selected for the volunteering programme due to the limited number of volunteer positions and a result of the Covid-19.
