The input Dad has on my career is incomparable. My earliest memories are of Dad sitting in the kitchen playing the guitar, listening to his favourite song by his favourite singer, and encouraging his little girl to poke (戳) keys randomly on the piano. Even watching Top of the Pops, he would get so passionate about music in it. We weren't a religious family, but there was something spiritual about Dad's connect ion with music.
Music also became a source of comfort for me. I failed to do well academically at school and had no friends. Being at school consumed so much of my emotional energy. Instead of going to school to learn stuff, I felt as though I was simply trying to get people to like me. Things were better, but the only time I truly felt happy was when I was at home listening to music with Mum and Dad or writing songs on the piano —and the older I got, the more powerful music felt.
Dad was always my biggest supporter. When I started giving live performances at the local bar, he was the one who drove me there and back. Freeing up that time wasn't easy for an actor. His job might mean three weeks in the Czech Republic or working with George Lucas on The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones in Hollywood.
Dad has been involved with some amazing stuff, but Daddy Pig is the one that's had the biggest impact all over the world. When I was flying to Australia for my first tour, I was trying to find something to watch on the little screen and I noticed they had Peppa Pig. If I'm missing home and family, I always put it on. Daddy Pig is a fairly real version of my dad —he loves chocolate cake, he's funny and usually breaks things when he's trying to mend them. Mum and Dad were friends with one of the producers of the show and I often wonder if he looked at my dad and thought, "That's him …that's Daddy Pig."
24. What can we learn about the author's father

B. By doing a demanding job as an actor.
C. By watching her musical performances.
D. By giving live performances at the local bar.
26. Why did the author mention Peppa Pig
A. It's her favourite childhood cartoon.
B. She saw her father through Daddy Pig.
C. She took pride in this world famous cartoon.
D. It's a cartoon about her hometown and motherland.
27. Which of the following can best describe the author's Dad
A. Funny and honest. B. Strict and hardworking.
C. Famous and patient. D. Supportive and influential.

Imagine if it were easy for everyone to get to the seashore, to smell the sea winds and to feel seawater on their skin. Wouldn't it be great if people with walking difficulty could also get closer to the ocean to enjoy the thrill of a sunset, watching the sun's rays light up the waves The good news is that things are moving in the right direction!
In a CDC study, around 14% of adults in the US report a mobility disability, defined as serious difficulty walking or climbing stairs. This can make vacation planning a challenge and put some destinations off-limits. But technology companies like Mobi-ma t are making a day at the beach for people with limited mobility a reality.
Mobi-ma t has developed some exciting innovations like non-slip roll-out accessibility mats(垫子). These function like red carpets at movie premieres(首映), taking people with special needs right to the seashore. They are made of a fine nylon material that is designed for people who use wheelchairs or may otherwise need a firmer surface to cross the sand.
More cities are working to make enjoyment of the beach much more wide-ranging in other creative ways based on regional conditions. The town of Jupiter in Florida has opened up access to its beaches to people who have trouble going up and down stairs via three new wide wooden walkovers. Ihe M ami Herald recently reported on the upcoming construction of a wheelchair-accessible beachfront observation platform, and upgraded park with adaptive playground and exercise equipment for people with disabilities in Miami Beach.
Inspired by creative innovation, forward-looking policymakers and companies, and the shared demands of disabled people who are calling for better access to beautiful beach locations, it seems that many more people of all abilities will be able to head to the beach.

A. The seasonore becomes the hottest destination.
B. The ocean environment changes for the better.

A. To introduce a friendly move. B. To recommend a treatment.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has hit the headlines in recent months, particularly since the launch of Chat GPT in November. The chatbot can not only answer a broad range of questions, but also create original poems and stories.
Japan's first fully AI-created comic, Cyberpunk: Peach John, was released on March 9 by Shinchosha a major publishing house.
The comic is based on the futuristic imagination of the author, whose pen name is Rootport. It describes how the Japanese folklore (民间传说) hero Momotaro, who is said to have been born from a giant peach, lives in a dystopian(反乌托邦的) future.
All the fancy futuristic objects and creatures in the book, however, were designed and created by Midjourney along with other popular online image-generation AI tools such as Stable Diffusion and DALL-E 2.
Unlike traditional comic volumes which are usually black-and-white and short in length, Cyberpunk: Peach John comes in full color and spans more than 100 pages. A work of this length would normally take over a year to complete by even authors who are familiar with comic creation. However, with AI creation, it took the writer a surprisingly short period—only six weeks—to finish the whole work.
Despite gaining widespread attention as the first fully AI-drawn comic in Japan, the work has also raised some questions and concern as well. According to Gulf News and CNN, some people are worried that AI technology will threaten jobs and copyright ownership in the nation's thriving comic book industry, as well as creativity and artistic value.
One Twitter user described the project as“an absolute insult (侮辱) to comic and comic artists everywhere.”Another wrote: "Weird to publish a comic by AI when your country has some of the most talented artists in existence."
But Rootport has insisted that his comic book should be considered a work of art. "AI cannot yet create a perfect work on its own. Human assistance is essential," he said.
32. Who is the writer of the comic, Cyberpunk: Peach John
A. Shinchosha. B. Rootport. C. Momotaro. D. Midjourney.
33. Which of the following is true
A. The comic book is colorful and extremely time-saving in creation.
B. AI technology will definitely threaten jobs and copyright ownership.
C. Japan has the most talented comic artists in the world.
D. The comic book is considered a work of art.
34. What's people's attitude towards the AI-drawn comic in the text
A. Positive. B. Negative C. Unconcerned. D. Neutral.
35. What is the main idea of the text
A. AI-drawn comics have advantages over traditional ones.
B. AI-drawn comics have become a new trend in Japan.
C. Japan released its first fully AI-created comic.
D. People have different opinions on the first AI-created comic.
